The Chrysler Delta.

Actually nothing to do with Chrysler, just wore Chrysler badges to enable it to be sold in the UK. It started life in Europe as a Lancia Delta, based on the underpinnings of the Fiat Bravo. Hardly sold in the UK which I think was a shame, in total I think there are no more than 500 of them in the UK. A few more in Italy wearing Lancia badges though.

Another one from the FIAT group at the same time, the Chrysler Ypsilon.

Again, the only association this car has with Chrysler is the badge. It also started off in life as a Lancia, which was based on Fiat 500 underpinnings. Had several of these as rental cars while living in Spain, in my opinion the Ypsilon is infact a far better car than the 500. The Fiat is cute and fashionable which is what sells them in the UK on PCP to 20-something women, the Ypsilon benefits from being a 5-door but still the same small package.

There's an Ypsilon regularly parked in a street near me ,in the near past there was sometimes 2 together ,I like the look of them,

quirky looks compared to the dull lookalike models from other makers.

A rare sight apart from that though.

suzuki kizashi. Poor sales meant it was discontinued with no replacement. 2.5litre with a CVT box. Only 14 on sale on AT

Suzuki really need to learn to stick to bikes. OK, maybe just sell the Swift!

I had the Ypsilon as a hire car. Hated the drive and feel of it, in my opinion it was worse than the Fiat 500.

Citroen XM/Estate 878 ever registered and only 4 left by the looks of it

https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/citroen_xm

I don't believe that there's only 4 left, I saw one yesterday in central Bristol
Mistaking a Xantia for an XM, maybe?

Regardless, there weren't many XMs about. I had an estate auto diesel version - a pool car from work. I put 80K miles on it. It had THE comfiest seats in any car I'd driven then and since.

Because the rear wheel was partly shrouded by the wheel arch, there was a lever by the gear lever that would push the car upwards about 8 inches to unshroud the wheel, should you need to change it. That feature helped me to ford a flood across the access road to Berkely nuclear power station back in the 90s.

Imagine taking a French car intentionally through fast moving water that was bonnet deep. People say French cars have dodgy electrics but this one never missed a beat. I regretted having to give it back.
There's way more than four on the road. I'm trying to sell some parts for one (I had three in the past) via the XM owner's forum and there are loads of active users on there.

MINI JCW Clubman - amazingly they only ever sold two hundred and something of them in the UK.
I think these are going to be interesting future classics. Quick, quirky and not impractical. Lot of time for them!

Saw an immaculate Citroen C6 wafting down the M1 into town this morning. First sighting for many months. Rare and comfy +++!
Beautiful cars.

Apparently the original sales target was 20,000 units per year when the car was launched in 2005, but they hadn't even achieved that figure by 2011, the year before it was canned. An epic failure by any standards. But what a car!

Yes, as per the previous page there are about 300 examples of the XM on the road. It sold a lot more than the later C6! My perception is that they were also a fair bit more popular than the equivalent Peugeot of the time (605) for example.

I work within the M25 and live 30 miles out of central London, I see loads of i3's on a daily basis.

MK3 VW Scirocco, hence the reason why they are no longer creating a new model as originally planned.

It's a shame as i really loved mine and they still look great, in my eyes. Used examples are even cheaper than a Golf GTI but, on the other hand, they will also not be able to hold their value in the same way.

They sold well enough not to be in this thread.

I don't remember that as proper production/sold in the main showrooms model?

And i quote; "Both the tin top Beetle and the Scirocco are poor sellers for VW". So, you can add the Beetle to this little list too wink

In all fairness, it does say it "might" be binned off an not "will". But, in the case of the Scirocco, the new model should have already been revealed by now for release this year or next. No-one's heard a peep.

Talking about the R specifically, perhaps a pain for some was that the Scirocco R was FWD only so many would go for the Golf R.

This said, I don't find people loving the 2010-2012 (MK6?) Golf R much either. I've seen three on the road, ever.

The Renault Laguna 3 on the whole seems a lot rarer than the mk2.

I think mainly because I own one, I've never see many Twingo mk2 in the 4 and half years I've had mine. And its really rare to see another GT or RS, Let alone a Renault Wind.

A fella at work has an old Honda Accord coupe, never seen many of them about.

Citroen C Crosser and the 4007 (PSA version of the Mitsubishi Outlander) . I also saw a two Proton Gen2's this morning....

They certainly sold them through our local dealer and you could get a brochure with proper Vauxhall logo on.
Think majority were built in Germany by Hammond and Thiede plus another couple of companies had a go at making one.
Harry Enfield owned one for quite a while - I've seen about 3 different ones this year alone - quite a few survive and they built around 500. They were the most expensive Cavalier you could buy at that time - about £500 more than a 5-door CDi

They did a convertible based on the Mk1 Cavalier Coupé/Manta as well but that was converted by Crayford
