Anyway... I spend my days travelling the a31,m27,m3,a34 etc.

Middle lane hoggers populate all of these roads, with a van that can only do 70mph they constantly jam me behind a lorry, unable to overtake or even move.

I'm guessing going past them in the left hand lane below 70mph or bang on 70mph is still undertaking and frowned upon by bib?

frown

Edited to say;Rule 268

Do not overtake on the left or move to a lane on your left to overtake. In congested conditions, where adjacent lanes of traffic are moving at similar speeds, traffic in left-hand lanes may sometimes be moving faster than traffic to the right. In these conditions you may keep up with the traffic in your lane even if this means passing traffic in the lane to your right. Do not weave in and out of lanes to overtake.

So i will be fine? scratchchin

As a general rule that is fine, but clear observation is needed, and a judgement orf whether the vehicle to the right will take aggressive offence (whilst not understanding this concept). It works fine in M-way 50 mph stretches, but unrestricted and congested stretches at 60 to 70mph? I think that is where the M-way camera observers can help with the 60mph signs, it (to me) regularises the allowed undertake. I am always surprised we do not see more smack-ups on M-ways. Someone is doing something right. I guess it is a combination of road design, gantry signals and, dare I say it, drivers.

I HATE the m25. It's a front row seat for seeing the WORST driving standards this country has to offer. And unbelievably, it's taxi drivers who seem to be some of the worst! Driving is their livelyhood and they don't seem to know how to do it.

Or maybe they know how to make progress to meet time deadlines and it's everybody else who is doing it wrong?

Interesting re driving in London, I found that if you dither about and try to drive by the book you create chaos around you. If you drive more assertively and develop maybe a less "conventional" by the rule book driving style, you cause less confusion because most everyone else is doing the same thing.

Not saying it's right but it seems to work.

Off to the airport in the early hours of tomorrow morning and have to use the M25. Guarantee to see lots of taxi's in lane 2 or 3 with empty lanes inside of them.

For people who are supposed to be professional drivers its shocking.
