18.6 when new according to wikipedia. I have my doubts it was that quick. God knows what its 0-60 was by the time I got it at 10years old. This was a 1980 Fiesta, 950cc. 60mph really was the limit on the motorway unless you wanted deafness or to be rattled to death.

31.0 SECONDS.

Morris 1000 (948cc)

I recall being unable to imagine how a Jaguar E-Type could achieve 0-60 in 6 seconds.

I would have considered myself insane if I could have told myself I'd one day own a car that would do it in 3 seconds smile

About 18 secs.
mk2 escort 1.3 pop plus.
It had a low compression 1.3L with a whopping 54bhp, top speed 87mph.
Fixed back vinyl seats, 2 speed heater but because it was the plus model I had 2 wing mirrors and a heated rear screen. I also had non servo front disc brakes (if you got a 1.1 you were stuck with drums all round!)
I traded it for a 1.3 chevette that had adjustable cloth seats and a whopping 60bhp
