I get that the GT2 might be less pleasant to drive daily on it's harder suspension and uncomfortable bucket seats but I dispute your claim that the 720S isn't exciting.
It's a huge leap forward from the 12C which I agree perhaps lacked excitement.
I've driven a Turbo S, GT3RS and a 720S on both road and track and the 720S was a damn sight more exciting than the Turbo S and equal to the GT3RS in terms of fun.
Have you driven a 720S yet or are you basing your opinion purely on Catchpoles' (clickbait?) review?
Completely agree with you on the Turbo S. And I'd say that actually, very little in the 911 range that's not a GT car appeals to me.....I tried a 991.2 Carerra 4S and it felt immensely capable, but I struggle to understand where it fits. It's monumentally fast, but fairly involving....and it's more expensive than a GT3!

Interesting though that you felt the 720S was more entertaining than the GT3RS. Another friend who has just sold his GT3RS dropped out of an allocation on a 720S, but is going to try one next week. He absolutely loved the Porsche, so it'll be interesting to hear his opinions.

Anyone who can't drive their car without TC shouldn't own it. And certainly shouldn't be bragging about owning it. That's it.

One thing driving it, another driving it even remotely quickly.

Even the pros racing 921's etc at Le Mans and the Nurburgring 24hrs use traction control.

GT2 RS sets a 6:47 around the Nordschleife. Whether or not you care about lap times, it completed the lap 10 seconds faster than the 918. A remarkable achievement.

FWIW my indicator of a fast Ring time is 7:46, as set by the XJ220. The 911 is almost a whole minute faster eek

That's nearly 5 seconds quicker than the Performante. Must go some then this GT2 RS.
