Struggle to get excited about these 2 cars. Both are pretty ugly with droney turbo noises that sound little different from a remapped Golf R.

100% in agreement with this...

Not stunning to look at, not so great to listen too but the Mclaren is a good drive with stunning acceleration and abilities.

Never driven the Honda but I'm sure it drives great, it's more "interesting" than the Mclaren but neither excites me or makes me "Want" either one...

People bought the original NSX because it looked like an exotic car, went a bit like an exotic car, but it worked every time you used it AND cost 1/3 of the price of similar performance cars.
You sure about that?
As i recall, it was a similar price to the 348....

Around 75% of the price.

What would you have instead at that price point ?

Got to be a manual 911 GT3 or the 7 speed manual Vantage V12 (if it's still being made)

I really like the NSX. If I had 150k to spend on a car, I wouldn't buy one though ...

A mid engine'd supercar....cab forward, lots of cooling required, some legislation... the shapes and hard points are often in VERY similar places. Hence R8, NSX, 488, 540/570 all share very similar proportions but deal with the details quite differently. And looks are always subjective anyway... I prefer the NSX.
I like the 918-a-like tech...NSX again.
The weight concerns me though, progress I hope will deal with that.
But a 570GT would be a superb thing to own long term.

Either way, I can definitely say that 0-60 really doesn't/wouldn't factor in my choice of how to spend £150k.
If I were concerned about such things I'd have motorbike or a Radical.....
Clearly if you focus on such stats combined with a road car you'll end up with a GTR, which for me is an otherworldly physics bender, struck hard by the ugly stick, outside and especially in....and that's before dealing with it's fragility. It's ubiquity in pub-bore "can't beat it" 'discussions' makes it all the more unlikable....

Nope, £150k, if that were my disposable, would not be spent on a new car....or even a tuned car.....it'd be spent on getting me a little collection of cars.
Only if I had millions would I consider these cars as a brand new purchase... and come that moment I'd STILL want NA revs/noise and drama.
Probably a Huracan...
