I think you need a fairly massive extrovert to carry a supercar off on a regular basis.

It would wear on me a bit I think. Of course if you can afford one then you can also afford something anonymous for a when not in the mood.
I am not an extrovert and I own one. You do get stared at very often, particularly when at petrol stations or coming into a pup/restaurant car park. Only time I feel a bit self conscious in it is when I'm stuck in traffic.

Maybe not a supercar but ask my kids what the rules are in the Cerbera and the first one they'll mention is - when you come to a railway tunnel (or similar) windows down, change down and floor it.

Also agree that if asked, and it's appropriate, give it a rev. Allow kids to look round, sit in etc. Do prom runs if asked and you're able to. Share the love I say. Create more petrol heads!

So I think the key rule is to share and be generous. If I'm at a petrol station I'll happily let the 5 year old sit in it and have his dad take a picture (as long as his shoes are clean).
Absolutely!

Rules looool, what rules.....

Surely those are for the normal, average, uninspired majority...

If you own a supercar, there is a massive chance you aren't one of those...

So rules.... what rules ???

I'm split 50/50 for the aero one. I actually think the lines of my car are helped when the wing is up and it adds a little something to the feeling that it's a 'sporty' car. Also worth noting that the rear wing only comes up at 75mph, so if I didn't press the button, it would be down 90% of the time in regular driving.

The wing in 'deploy' mode looks like it belongs there, so unless you are in the know then you wouldn't look and think, "That belongs in the down position", but it's all personal taste:

leaving it up is doing nothing for the lines of a beautiful car. On this occasion, you are quite wrong. But the whole point is, its your car, so who cares smile

but no, it simply isn't enhancing it one bit !!!

This. Always this. No matter what you drive, if someone shows an interest (and you don't think they want to nick it!) then be graceful and give them a minute of your time, or a nod, or a smile.

People sneer at the kids in modified hatches - but they are passionate about their car. Better that than anyone that just uses their car as an appliance.

If they drive something unusual, or have made it thus, they are more like you than you think.

Rules?

FFS.

Why do a bunch of wannabe's seek to impose their whim on others?

Stump up your own coin, buy your own bloody supercar, and then follow your own moral compass if you even have one.
This 100%

But the majority of people, hate others that treat what "they" cant have as toys. lol, look how mad the "none" supercar owning, diesel, mx5, suzuki swift is all you need, but the speed limit is only 70 brigade get, mad at even a post about supercars on this site.

I personally find it hilarious, very bitter and twisted individuals wiith no real "get up and go" and a seemingly distinct lack of testosterone...

There was even a post on this site debating keying nice cars, A DEBATE.... loooool

They would like "you" not to rev "your" car, even tho "you" wanted as many cylinders as possible just for the noise and delivery, not to use any of it's ferocious power, again another one of the reasons "you" bought it and please, please dont impress the lady's or his missus that is secret looking out the corner out of her eye at you with a knowing smile while you are trying hard not to look at your dream staring you in the face whilst piloting the family bus(picasso, c-max etc)...

The police dont even bother you, they either try not to look or give you a thumbs up. looooool

Rules pah!!!

I love the supercar experiencecloud9

Long may it continue....

Always let people in and out of traffic. It's a perfectly reasonable thing to do in an ordinary motor, but the feel good factor it creates when you see it done with a supercar is fantastic.
Good call. There is surely something fundamentally cool about being in a fast car but not being in a hurry? yes

Completely agree the revving can be unnecessary but if a few car geeks like me are saying rev it, a little tap would be nice. But in all fairness I can see them getting this all the time which would get old pretty fast.
Revving is a difficult one - my old AMG (not a supercar I know, but a lovely sounding car!) had a limiter so that unless you were actually moving you couldn't rev it into the sweet spot. I disappointed a few people with that.

I don't get the same problem with the i3 that replaced it laugh
Sooooo... not a difficult one....

No supercar, renders answer void... biggrin

Always fun giving people what they ask for and seeing the appropriate cheers and hollers especially if you only take it out once or twice a week, especially if less so...

Supercars are not for the grumpy or shy, that just gives them a bad rep, they are for the positive, happy and oh so full of life people that i usually tend to meet in them, from any ethnicity...

If you see a car ahead of you putting it's driver's window down, give it some beans as you go past.
Never act like a tosser when you're in a supercar. I remember as a schoolboy, one of my schoolmates had his dad's DB7 for the day and we were a right bunch of little tts, especially to a traffic warden who tried to get us to move on from where we'd 'landed' the car. Makes me cringe a lot looking back knowing what I'd think now seeing someone act like that.
Conversely it seems you have to remain cool in a supercar when someone acts like a tt to you. A good few years ago in Cullompton I saw a lowlife gob on the window of a bright yellow Diablo. Cool as a cucumber the driver just squirted the window and carried on. Only one person looked like a nobber on that occasion.

You forgot to mention that you owe it to yourself and everyone else to always make proper use of tunnels! What's the point of driving a car that goes all the way up to 11 if you don't share that noise with others!

I don't own a supercar but a bright orange seven style kit, and a rule I go by is if you see kids pointing or watching the car I always go for a blipped down change or a squirt of throttle, whatever is appropriate at the time.

If you're in town trundling in third a quick blip into second will make them smile, and personally I enjoy others getting something out of the car, especially young potential petrolheads .

Same goes for supercars in my book
