Does a Leaf battery get charged when the car gets towed? That might be their only hope of crossing mongolia and do at least some driving there.
Most rural homes in mongolia operate on a small solar panel and a car battery, won't do them much good pointing at a plug.

I wish them the best of luck, but when the car needs to do half the journey on the back of a truck you might as well ship it to the finish line in a container.

A brave idea but being as they will hardly complete any of it you cant really give them credit for anything.
Its a bit like me saying im going to swim the atlantic and milk all the high fives for a few weeks.
