I only hope the quality is better and the dealers more capable than when I had a new company Cavalier GSi 16v 4x4. Failed transfer box (dealers plugged it in and said nothing wrong!), burst heater matrix, total power loss at night in fog on the M4. The spec promised much but it was the worst car I've ever owned. The 3 standard Cavaliers were fine though.
Looks great and the stats for it look good for what it is.
It's just a shame that it's residuals are so bad it would make it hard to justify owning until it's done most of drop in value.
Also my concern is build quality / reliability, I used to work with someone who had Astra VXR (2014 version new) as a company car, that had to go back constantly with problems.

Depreciation figures don't mean a great deal anyhoo. Based on list price so doesn't take into account whether anyone got a nice discount or no discount and spent 5k on extras.

SR was replaced by SRI as the mid range, sporty model but not the top end in the Nova and Astra mk2
GTE became GSI at the top (and GSI was available with 4x4 in the Cavalier)
The Cavalier was a bit obscure as the Turbo sat at the range, but nothing else in the Vauxhall line up had a 'Turbo' model other than the Calibra which was basically the same car but never badged as an SRI even with the same engine as the Cavalier SRI. The Cavalier V6 was never badged as a Sport though, only SRI or 'V6' with GLS trim.
Sport replaced SRI at a later date in most cases it later replaced GSI, the mk3 Astra ended up with a Sport model with 3 engine options, which used to be SRI or GSI, the Corsa had 2, which used to be SRI and GSI but the GSI was sold along side the Sport to begin with before the GSI was dropped, Vectra was still available as an SRI or a Sport depending on engine. Oh, and Supertouring earlier on in the range with either a V6 or a 2.0. And GSI with a V6.
So then Vauxhall decided the mk4 Astra would be badged as a Sport and have an SRI as the range topper, then they built about 4 SRI turbos which then became the GSI.
Then Vauxhall invented VXR and dropped Sport and GSI but kept SRI.
See, not complicated or confusing in any way.

The high list and big discount culture seems very silly but I don't run Vauxhall. It makes the depreciation seem massive (my Vectra at 8 months old was less than 50% of list price) and means higher company car tax which is bound to hurt them.Depreciation figures don't mean a great deal anyhoo. Surely it would be more sensible to reduce the list price which makes it more attractive to private buyers and those looking through the company list?
This just seems like the DFS permanent sale state to me.
While i said my current vaxhall (2014 zafira b 1.8 man petrol) would be my last. This if it comes as an estate might change that. Pricing would have to be kean to tempt me away from octavia vrs or similar but it is a nice looking car.

They built about 500 Sri Turbo's which then meant they made GSI's not 4 lol, otherwise I would have owned a quarter of the total build!starting near the beginning;

You've forgotten the Nova Sport which was higher than the SR but I'll forgive you as that just confuses things haha
As the Admin of VXRonline I haven't heard of any new VXR models, I suspect we might not - there isn't a higher power model coming as far as I've heard, but I am impressed they have gone down the GKN twinster route - can only help imho especially with all the haldex issues they've had
