My other query is how come this is as fast as a 3-Eleven around Hethel? Doesn't the 3-Eleven have more power, significantly less weight and similar aero?! As well as a sequential box. I realise the drag of the open top layout at higher speeds will favour the Evora, but my 2-Eleven was at least a match for an Exige Cup around a quick circuit (see You Tube for a vid of me at Goodwood chasing some Exige Cups), despite appearing slower on paper, so comparing power and weight the 3-Eleven should walk all over this new Evora?
[/quote]

You're confusing the much more expensive 460bhp sequential 3-11 race car with the 410bhp manual road car, which is what this Evora is being compared to on track.

Ah, thanks. I just did a quick google for the specs. That's still a slight surprise, but not as much as I initially thought.

Good luck trying to get one... Not gonna happen. At least anybody is able to actually buy the GT430.

Wow amazing car.

Owned the Evora 400 for 10 months and loved it. Good to see Lotus opening up to the wider market, albeit for the richer car enthusiast.

I'm sure it'll be fantastic. But why do manufacturers bother claiming a dry weight? It's pointless. You aren't going to drive it without any engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, fuel etc in it are you!?

Great cars. Appalling main dealers (South coast anyway) numerous issues with spares. Not the company it once was. But loved my Evora the 6 months I had it.

I don't think it's over priced as such, it's just that they will depreciate, whereas a GT3 won't. I mean, you can't even get a 2014 GT3 for under list price still! Free motoring...
It's somewhat unfortunate nowadays that the main judgement of a sports car is a financial one and it's pretty recent thing. Most people always used to accept that sports cars would depreciate but that isn't the case now.

The current gen of lotus cars imo drive considerably better than any of the 9X1 gen Porsches, GT cars included. The main reason why everyone wants a GT car is that they are seen as free money. They are good cars to drive but not as overwhelmingly superior as the demand for them suggests. If they depreciated like other cars demand for them would absolutely crash.

Only 6 cars coming to UK and appears 2 people have already ordered one over on TLF.

From someone who has an Elise, and really, really wants an Evora, but can't afford one...just wow. I've driven a 400 and it's incredible, so this will be off the scale.

Lotus, you utter bds, stop rubbing it in I can't get one, unless I live in it.

The GT430 smashes the Cayman GT4 into the middle of next week. Faster in a straight line and on the twisties. But it is almost twice the price. They will no doubt sell out, but it is hugely overpriced.

If it smashes the Cayman GT4 into next week, then the GT4 is not the car to compare it with!

Gneuine question, what sports cars have similar performance and handling and how much do they cost?

For £23,000 less money you'd be in a Le Mans pedigree Corvette Stingray Z06, with its modest 650 bhp (and an astounding Ring time, if you're into that sort of thing).

I just can't get onto the Lotus bandwagon.

They just look small and fragile to me and i've been in a fair few. The interiors have no style and largely the plastics are cheap and have just come out of a parts bin and been glued and thrown at the dashboard; where they land they stick.

Interior wise the world has moved on and ESPECIALLY in a £112k car I would be demanding a hell of a lot more.

Is it fast, yes. Would it give a GT3 a run for it's money; probably.

Personally, I would rate this car as a £60k machine.

Sorry.....i'm off!!

(Noble 600 the same. The time for these cars was against the 964, Griff etc, etc...the world has moved on).

I'd see the McLaren 540C at £126k as "bargain of the week" compared with this Lotus.

533 bhp from a properly mid-engined V8 in the McLaren.

I love the butt hurt from the crowd who used to dismiss Lotus as being uncompetitive with some more aspirational brands (true enough a few years back).

Now there's stuff like this that will eat your lunch.

The lower end cars have glacial depreciation and every model feels so good to drive.

Totally different driving propositions though. Like comparing a Caterham to a BMW M3....one certain Caterham may have similar lap times, they're totally different cars to drive.

You should pop your thoughts in an email to Lotus.

I have a 2014 Evora SR and the only plastic visible in the cockpit is indicator stslks and steering column cowl, the rest is leather, alcantara and gunmetal aluminium.
