Down here in sleepy old Devon the Traffic and Armed Response guys are pretty much merged now with ARV's outnumbering Traffic by 2-3 units to 1 usually on a shift. Any pursuit (if it's authorised) will almost certainly involve armed officers and they predominantly drive X5's down here and the guys I know aren't shy about using 'tactical contact' if it's needed. We have the advantage of less urbanised areas though and more tractors and quads being nicked than performance cars.
The request for the helicopter made me laugh in that video. With the damage the Police vehicles were sustaining the villains would be long gone before the NPAS guys had even put their flight suits on.
