They'd appear to have a very poor Ncap rating.
My mate from Sytners has bought one. Like most of the target audience, Ncap is pretty far down the list of priorities. It's a great car. It looks epic, drives very well, is decently built and good value. I see one a day on average.

is that compared to another new car or compared to a Capri? Now, aside from a slightly less good NCAP rating, is the car any good or not?
I think it does what it's designed to do pretty well. It's never going to be a people carrier or a sports car but the main criticism it tends to get as a muscle car is that it's oddly quiet. It'd certainly be somewhere near the top of my shortlist if I was ever after that sort of car.

I've seen a number of new RHD Mustangs around of late. A new V8 is available for £38,000, so what's not to like?
They feel "big" on the road. They're by no means nimble.
They're in relatively short supply so no discounts avail.
Theres no incentivised finance deals.
And the second two are true but it's the price you actually pay that matters, not the habit of adding 10% on to allow for a 10% discount- and it still looks good value.
I'll give you a downside though- waiting time, although I think that is reducing.

There's one at the top of my road - it has a Miltek on it. Sounds nice.
£38k is expensive for what the masses will perceive as "American" and therefore "Plastic Interior", "Cheap Leather" etc will be buzzwords in their minds - regardless of the truth.
Tax band is another thing that'll stop people - especially first year tax.

Yes but 3 year old C63 vs new Mustang?£38k is expensive for what the masses will perceive as "American" and therefore "Plastic Interior", "Cheap Leather" etc will be buzzwords in their minds - regardless of the truth.
Would be great if we got the 5.2 Voodoo V8 here.

It's basically a mondeo coupe.... but a v8 version
I'm not sure it's possible for you to be less correct.Back to the sensible people.
I think they are great, especially in yellow but then I like yellow cars. Saw a nice yellow one the other day and it had a louder exhaust so I followed it around for a while with my window down just to hear it.
I'd imagine that you can use a lot of the aftermarket stuff available for them so it has the option to become very special indeed if you want.

On the contrary, I feel that it is relatively cheap for a v8 coupe, compared with the alternatives offered by Audi, BMW, Mercedes, etc, which would set you back 50%+ over the cost of the Mustang.£38k is expensive for what the masses will perceive as "American" and therefore "Plastic Interior", "Cheap Leather" etc will be buzzwords in their minds - regardless of the truth.

Also the Mustang / muscle car heritage does give it a huge amount of kudos in itself.
