Seen 2 Velar today. A metallic red in Peterborough and a silver in Sheffield. Both looked pretty swish. Didn't have a good look as moving along.
I did think the rear track looked a little narrow from straight behind but there again I like the Carlos Fandango look!

I don't get this thing. I assumed they were going to make a Discovery Sport sized car - 4.6m in length for those who find the Evoque a bit small, but instead they've made a facelifted Range Rover Sport.

They already sell a Discovery Sport sized car.

If you've been in a Discovery Sport you'd know it doesn't isolate you from the road half as well as an Evoque or any "range rover". The Discovery Sport rides poorly, is noisy and doesn't have any of the luxury feel of the Evoque. I think most assumed a 4.3m long Evoque, a 4.6m long Velar and a 4.8m long Sport would make sense, but apparently not.

In the showroom, Velar is noticeably smaller, shorter and more steeply raked towards the rear than RR Sport.

Velar is a perfectly sized RR for cities IMO

The DS does not ride "poorly" and is not "noisy" but obviously the air suspension cars are going to ride better than steel sprung ones!

LR turning into Aston marketing.

All look very lovely but very similar.

The Velar being the Virage.

A model shoehorned into gaps.

I'd like to see a new defender, but seems LR pushing too far upmarket. Although I think they could do with something with that..

It is noisy and the interior is low rent. I've had a few as courtesy cars, it does make the Evoque feel luxurious in comparison.

I don't agree but I'm not wrong. Have a drive in a new RR and you'll see the difference.

OMG is that a 4 pot? If so on yer bikes! Especially compared to Macan residuals...
Range Rover Sport and Evoque both have better residuals than a Macan.

what are you roffling at? I own a ffrr and have driven a disco sport. It's like a minicab in comparison. Proper low rent and 'ordinary'

Obviously to be expected considering the price differential, but they are not even vaguely comparable...

Couldn't agree more, especially as the Freelander is conspicuous by its absence in the current line up...........

It's you that's comparing them!
I was correcting the opinion that the DS is noisy and rides poorly which is just wrong!

Really?
Surely a hefty surcharge in there for all those warranty claims...

Another ridiculous fad/niche

In town pointless showing off....
