I can't take the opinions of someone who says the X5 rides well seriously. I just can't, sorry.
I just said it rode better, IMO/IME, than the previous generation Disco.I can't take someone seriously who says someone's experience based opinion is wrong because they don't agree with it.

I didn't actually, I referred to Range Rovers, not the Evoque. And I edited the missing word in my reply 2 mins before your reply to add 'not', as in I've not driven and Evoque.
Doesn't take Einstein or the Beatles manager to work out that a car twice the price just might be better especially when it's from the same manufacturer! Still doesn't make the DS noisy or have a bad ride.
You don't have to agree but you're still wrong!
Compared to a Phantom, a Range Rover is noisy and has a bad ride.

I am not saying the ride is as good as a RR or Roller you don't have to agree but you're still wrong!

FFRR to Phantom is no bigger leap than DS to FFRR.
I'm not wrong. It's my opinion, based on experience. My ex had a Freelander in the late 90s. That rode better and was quite than the DS I drove. Partly as it was a petrol rather than diesel, but every DS I've seen has been diesel, and a noisy diesel that that.

Wrong again!FFRR to Phantom is no bigger leap than DS to FFRR.

The new 2.0d is not noisy in comparison to the BMW unit in the 2.0d X3/X5!
You don't have to agree but your still wrong.

and it's you're, not your. If you are going act supercilious and claim to know my opinions better than I do, at least use the right word

No. I think it's a fabulous design for an SUV, not ostentatious or pretentious, just clean lines.Granfondo said:

Style over substance! Are you saying it should look worse to become more acceptable? Curious approach.
Ares said:
I'd say for it's market, substance is near 100%. If style exceeds that then well done JLR?

It's just a big Evoque or a re-skinned F- Pace which will suit the type of buyer that will be renting these! Are you saying it should look worse to become more acceptable? Curious approach.
No it shouldn't look worse because that's the "style" element it's the "substance" that's the problem with its hardware!

And what substance is missing for it's target market?
I have now owned my D300 First Edition Velar for a week - bloody fantastic car and I have come out of a Range Rover Sport and have driven a FFRR many times when my RRS was at the dealership for warranty or service work. The D300 Velar on air suspension is the pick of the bunch. In First Edition trim the interior fit and finish is magnificent and makes the FFRR Autobiography look boring! The car drives very well especially in Dynamic mode it hugs corners very well.
The infotainment system is super quick and is a major wow factor of the car with those dual screens.
This is the one to have - currently the best RR available IMHO of course.
Those calling it a bigger Evoque or another F-Pace need to seriously go drive one and you will see it is far from it! I own an Evoque too and they cannot be compared!

The interior is fantastic and it has showroom appeal in spades and your right about it being the pick of the range unless you need the towing capacity or proper 4x4 capability which most people don't!
The only gripe is that it's very pricey for what it is IMO but that won't stop it selling like hot cakes!
