Couldn't you get these for <£30k at one point a few years ago? (albeit high mileage, a bit tatty etc.)
yes very much so. £35k-40k got you a nice 30k mile example with FFSH, and high 20s or around 30 were the high mileage ones.

They're still absolutely glorious looking things aren't they?

Weird seeing one in Rosso Corsa though, default colour for a 456 is always the deep navy blue (TDF?) for me.

Fixed that for you.
What gives you the right to piss about with my opinion?
Just because you don't like the car doesn't give a right to alter somebody else's views.

thing with ultra-low mile cars is you have to keep them in that hermetically sealed bubble to retain the value. Guess this is more of a investment object than a real car which is a shame

I've always had a soft spot for these (though not in red!) and finally got to drive one earlier this year, after stepping straight out of a 550. And although I'd been warned, it felt rather old and significantly less agile. I appreciate it is old but it seems surprising in comparison to a 550, alongside which it was sold back in the '90's. The 550 is leagues above it in so many respects however the 456 is just beautiful.
And for the record I prefer the original with the Daytona-esque bonnet slats which were lost on the 'M'.

One of these in dark blue with tan leather. Pre-facelift with a manual box.

Perfect.

It's just an internet turn of phrase. Nobody's altering your views!

Under wheeled by today's standards but don't forget it was released over 20 years ago.

Easily fixed with 575 alloys

The 456,especially the later m.cars are a superb drive...the v12 is seamless and as an automatic a great GT...these cars sub 100k are a steal
