I know where there's a 95 Silver one with 70k miles on it. Standard car 6 speed manual. Well specced too and rare with an Electric Sunroof. Will be coming up for sale in the not too distance future.
That's bloody low miles, and standard too! Please could you PM me if / when this becomes available (assuming you don't snap it up!)?Resolutionary said:

Don't worry, I won't be snapping it up as I want to keep my balls intact. No room in the drive!Chap that has it inherited from a family member who passed away.
I'll let you know when it comes up as I've been asked to list it for the non-Audi owner.
Very very few of these now as most were broken to aquire their 20V 5 cyl engines.

Cupra or hot Golf/Civic etc - don't make me laugh, put on your baseball caps and go back to your Sony playstations.
That was me. Funny stereotypes, at least in estate form, it seems to me to be the other way around. Responsible family man buys the modern predictable car, the chaps with the backward hats and heavier right foot than sense (and hoping for a short term cheap ownership) go for the old halo cars. With that out of the way, I do think they appeal to at least a similar crowd, irrespective of head adornments... Edited by Onehp on Monday 31st July 12:29

Correct, which I find a tremendous shame given the overall rarity of the UR Avants. I must be fairly alone in my view here but these old Audi barges, especially the hotter versions, just look so right to me. Please do keep me posted bud Chap that has it inherited from a family member who passed away.

Did a review for PH on my near 500BHP B5.
For a car from 2001 the only thing it did not have in relation to a car from 2015 was parking sensors.
Great to drive slowly or insanely fast.
Great with one person or four.
Great in sunshine or snow.
Great on B roads or doing the grocery shopping.
Like sitting inside Darth Vadar's helmet though. A pleasure to drive at night with the warm glow of the instruments.
If I did again it would be a B7 with that V8 and get Miltech to give it a tickle and put on a new exhaust.

B5 RS4 , slower than a Golf R around the Ring.
Golf R, slower than a Civic Type R around the ring..... so what? I'd rather have the Golf!As for the B5 RS4 I aren't sure I would want one as my daily due to potential running costs. But if somebody was giving me that or a Golf R and I could keep my S5 for daily use then I'd have the RS4!
A good mate has a beautiful and immaculate B7, it is very quick but my god you've got to drive it damn hard to get the most from it
For me the main issue is the running costs, £1k for front brakes, suspension issues etc
They sound glorious with a miltek, but I do fear as prices drop to low teens, there will be some very ropey poorly maintained cars about
I've just ordered a Cupra ST 300 DSG 4drive but don't own any hardware...

Had a B7 RS 4 first, brand new in 2006, someone stacked it into the back of me and It had a new rear quarter welded in, got shot of it immediately. Went to a B5 RS4 and preferred the power delivery of the TT V6 especially with Doug at MRC's custom map running about 420hp. I kept it for a couple of years before moving into a E61 M5. Driven the B8 RS4 a few times but for me it has lost the soul of both the B5 and B7, almost lost the soul and special feel compared to the original Rennsport Neckarsulm built cars which were always very limited numbers.
A good low mileage B5 in great condition with cam lobes done or inspected will fetch really good money and be a very solid investment for the future but beware running costs are not cheap, they eat O2 and EGT sensors as a staple diet and there are common issues to look for (cam lobes, engine coking etc...)

I owned this B7 Avant for a year from new.
As others have mentioned, there is little rear leg room, the boot space is small and it was'nt that fast (probably because in reality the BHP was in the 350-370 range). The DRC was good and the ride was considerably better than the S4. However, the DRC was a weak point on B7's and mine failed at 1,500 miles. The other issue was carbon build up. The engine note was the best thing about the car.
In summary, I found the car so underwhelming, I sold it after 12 months of ownership
