What about tarted up Toyotas?! I'm no BMW fan boy, so if the original comments is aimed at me your barking up the wrong bush. I'm moving from m3 to qv as BMW have lost their way imo.

I'm not saying the Lexus is bad, indeed I've been complementary I'm just stating how its perceived by the majority and that they are tarted up Toyotas, which they are (i haven't said or implied that's a bad thing either) Some people seemingly get riled up by anything these days.
I'm not sure that is that common, I'd be surprised if a lot of Joe publics would even be aware of the Toyota link tbh unless they're an Alan Partridge fan.
"Tarted up" is typically not a complementary way to describe something though, that's where you're falling down, or at least that's how I read it. You could steal the line from Wikipedia "the luxury vehicle division of Japanese car maker Toyota" but that's a mouthful. A luxury toyota maybe smile

Having recently stripped a Toyota Supra - I was shocked how well built it was - better than an E36 / E46 and IME far less likely to rust or have bush / cooling system problems.

The Germans made good cars in the 70's & 80's when others weren't but IME the rest of the world caught up and some had overtaken them by the 90's

Just read this thread from start to finish. Seems I'm not the only one with one of these on the short list.

ISF or M135i?

Dare I say the ISF could be a better 'investment'. Hate that word when associated with cars. Before I get shot down in flames this would be daily driver so non of this keeping in a garage nonsense.

Like this one - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Depends what you mean by investment - Having tried to sell the 2011 one upthread for the last 2 months on PH and AT without one call or email I would say the market for them is very very small. I hate to use WBAC so will try again in the new year after it's next service.

Interesting to note that the £15,995 one the article is about hasn't sold even at £14,995 and that has an AT advert date of 8th July 2017

True I guess the market is limited and not really considered how long some of these have been advertised. I would be interested in yours but Silver isn't my bag. Shame you are having to let it go.

I had nothing but hassle when trying to sell mine. hame as it was a perfect car. Ended up selling it to Evans Halshaw as they offered way more than WBAC and only £500 off my asking price.

Annoyingly a chap who had been in touch and was waiting on his car to sell first ended up buying it from Evans Halshaw in the end. They were useless when it came to advertising it, I acted as the middle man to aid the sale.

I’ve found myself looking at them on AT again recently. Great allrounders

Evans Halshaw have one for sale currently but with only part service history it could be a while before it shifts.

Mine was full Lexus history, serviced bang on time every year regardless of mileage. I sourced it via the owners forum. Aside from the earlier water pumps they seem solid.

Talking about exclusivity, currently there are only 7 for sale in the UK!

Never did buy one, but went a different route. Did drive one however and despite the very Japanese interior they are very nice cars with a silky smooth gearbox that seems to match very well even compared to much newer vehicles.

Would take one over the BMW or Merc any day simply because they're a bit more unique.
