This pic at least has the aspect ratio screwed up. Look at the oval wheels.

The front & side are just OK ... but what an absolute dogs-dinner they've made of the rear. A total ugly mess - so unharmonious. Compare it to that of the 308GTSi, BB, 400i ...and even the Testarossa. Talk about a backward step in car design. A huge missed opportunity.

do people actually like that?
Obsession with wide-angle lens. Makes anything look weird.
It is a very strange phenomenon. Have all modern automotive photographers learnt their craft whilst selling bedsits in Swindon?

The car in that photograph has been made to look like a sex pond trying to look like a swimming pool.

I know what a WA lens will do biggrin

they are just car show snaps not pro images, with that many people there you probably need to get close and shoot wide to avoid clutter/other people

So your question was asking if people like the Wide Angle lens? confused

...or using a wide angle lens photo to subtly persuade people to agree with your opinion that the rear looks st?

Whilst I don't think it's Ferrari best rear end, I do like it.

And it better/cleaner than the 812

I think it's a fantastic looking thing. Would have that silver one any day of the week and twice on a Sunday.

Rumours are that this will still be decently north of £200k once optioned (Thick end of £250k?), so far from cheap and not deserving of the rather condescending implication of 'entry level' (despite it being technically accurate!). I always thought of the Cali/Port as more of a GT car - a Ferrari for every day use.

The only downside being that if you use it every day, then you will never see a penny of your money back since everyone knows you can only do 100 miles per year in a Ferrari otherwise it's worthless. wink

7 year warranty...not sure on service intervals...that's a 'daily' Fez right there. smile

Looks SO much better in silver . I wanted to love this car but was really disappointed by the original airbrushed shots of the car in red, but in these real world shots it's super desireable.

The back bumper thing gives the appearance of a prolapse.

+1

Anyone know what colour that one is? Ferrari do about 47 different shades of silver/grey.

The problem is that they put an aggressive F12 supercar nose into what is still basically a California. The back of the car can’t match the ridiculous aggression of the front. The California and Roma aren’t trying to be supercars, and that’s not their target market, they are meant to be pleasant high performance daily use GTs. The Portofino looks like a California with an F12 bodykit, and is about as well resolved as that would be.

What on earth did you do in order to resurrect a five year old thread to rehash the same opinions generated all the way back then?

Portofino is now history thanks to the roma coupe/cab.
