RE: MY18 Nissan 370Z announced
Discussion
I've had my 2009 manual GT model for 3 years and 23k miles, and still loving it.
Came from a 135i Coupe, and a Mk6 Golf GTI before that, so was actually looking for something less rounded.
The old school feel is very appealing, and it feels like the end of an era type car, NA, big capacity and manual are not going to be on sale for much longer.
Our first child is due in March, so it will be going after Christmas, most likely to be replaced by an M2, which although turbo, similar in character, especially as I plan seeking out a manual version

This is one of my favourite cars on sale right now. I'm glad to see it continuing, I've been wondering if it would be withdrawn from the UK/Europe at some point
I like the new Infiniti Coupe too.Well done Nissan for sticking with a NA V6. I expect the Yanks love the V6 and wouldn't go near a 4cylinder but perhaps Europeans could be more easily swayed by a smaller capacity engine with a turbo, RB26 should do
It's good to read so many positive remarks about a car I've known & loved for many years. Got my first 350z in 2004 and I've had Z's ever since. The 370 is better than the 350 in many small ways, but they're both lovely 'old school' sports GT's. Anyone who knocks them doesn't really know them.
They're an absolute bargain, a lovely car to live with and - contrary to one earlier comment - very reliable. Rumour has it that a Z replacement concept may appear at Tokyo at the end of October, possibly for sale during 2019, but the 350 & 370 will still retain a very strong following even if this happens.

I very nearly looked for one of these 3 years ago, but the main thing that put me off was the £500 a year road tax on post 06 models.
So I bought a BMW Z4 Coupe - tax is a mere £305 a year! But mainly because I'd always wanted one since I saw one in the showroom when I collected my 1 Series in 2008! And it's also an N/A 6 cylinder petrol engine with RWD.
But any 370Zs registered after this April are only going to be £140 a year to tax - looks like a good future option! Because there aren't really any other N/A 6 cylinder cars with RWD anymore.

Is this a wind-up, or do people genuinely buy cars based on VED amounts? So I bought a BMW Z4 Coupe - tax is a mere £305 a year! But mainly because I'd always wanted one since I saw one in the showroom when I collected my 1 Series in 2008! And it's also an N/A 6 cylinder petrol engine with RWD.

Well it partly explains my 'logic' of spending c. £10K on a Forester STI, which is about double what an equivalent UK 2.5 XT would have cost. But the VED is half as much so I'm saving money EVERY YEAR! And the six-speed gearbox means I get better mpg too. #manmaths and all that.Dan

Well I did take it into account - I'm retired so budget comes into the factors under consideration!Probably not an issue for the PH powerfully-built company directors of course........!

I doubt insurance is much different, nor servicing or tyres.
Fuel I really don't know - my current Z4C is showing 34 mpg on the OBC. Do 350Zs get that? (Doubtful given their CO2 emissions)!
Credit is a non-issue - I just bought it (if you can't pay for it, you can't afford it IMO).
Potential benefits of a 350Z seemed to be a factory-fit LSD, but the downside is they are lardy.
It'll probably be for the outgoing 2017 model but I see Nissan UK have a £4000 PCP deposit contribution on the 370Z....effectively making it a £25k car (+ 4% APR)
£369 deposit then £369 a month for 49 months. What's not to like

So not exactly flying out of the showroom then! Where is CraigyMc when you need him. £369 deposit then £369 a month for 49 months. What's not to like
