RE: Lotus Evora GT430 Sport
Discussion
I have always struggled with the looks of the Evora - at first, the long nose, rounded air intake, and "broken back" side profile, then the "try-had" overwrought facelift of a couple of years ago.
Now - wow. They have finally nailed it. A cohesive front end, and sharp surfacing detail which suggests fine manufacturing tolerances and high levels of finishing. The front is gorgeous, and the colour (both body and wheels) makes it look far more expensive than the original.
...oh, it IS far more expensive than the original....
...but it's now a truly desirable car; its performance and handling were never in doubt. Now - at last - it has the looks to match the performance.

So it's the same as the McLaren.
We'll offer one with spoilers.
We'll offer one with carpet.
We'll progressively increase the power level so all existing owners feel inclined to come back and repeat.
I can't help but feel that takes the shine from each successive revision. It feels like there's been a 'revision' every 90 days this summer.
The route to happiness in a Lotus or McLaren is to buy, enjoy and never read another car magazine or internet site again. We'll offer one with spoilers.

Or alternatively to not subscribe to the idea that the company releasing a better car in some way makes your older example worse. I've never really understood that. gigglebug said:
Is there any indication as to whether this version will be available as a 2+2 Matt?
Lotus do a bespoke service so I bet if you pay extra they'll do it any way you like - put the side windows back in, rear seats etc etc. You'll need to change the front seats back to standard folding ones instead of fixed buckets too, but its all bolt-on items.giveitfish said:

Bah, neglected the whole missing rear window aspect! Thought this model might regain the 2+2 option as it's not so focused but it looks like a no on that basis alone. Shame as I'll only be looking at more than 2 seats for the foreseeable future and it was a large factor in the Evora's appeal, to be honest if I wanted a hardcore 2 seat road car I'd still plum for the Exige over the Evora. The styling of the Evora is much improved lately though, from the GTE onwards really, and this is probably the best looking one overall yet. It is expensive enough as it is without throwing more cash at it for a bespoke service though!shame it is not £60k then it would be a viable option. don't forget the gt4 with right options was circa £72k. Why would you pay this for a lotus -the evora body in my view is dating heavily now. granted I saw a 430 last week in titanium grey in London and it did look good but not £120k... Madness. Lotus if you want to sell cars they need to be affordable because you cannot take on Porsche!

They just have and Porsche's ass is nowhere to be seen. I'm a big Porsche fan but the looks on that Evora beat just about anything on the road. Well played sirs. As I am not (not likely to be) a customer of Lotus I couldn't care about less than gruntled purchasers of the earlier Evora. That blue car is sex on wheels.

It looks good and goes faster. Job done.
