shame it is not £60k then it would be a viable option. don't forget the gt4 with right options was circa £72k. Why would you pay this for a lotus -the evora body in my view is dating heavily now. granted I saw a 430 last week in titanium grey in London and it did look good but not £120k... Madness. Lotus if you want to sell cars they need to be affordable because you cannot take on Porsche!
I saw the same car and I'd have it anytime over a gt4 and I'd bet money it's a far better car to actually drive as well.

Very probably - I sold my GT4 as I didn't find it that much fun to drive at all.

They are totally targeting the US and Asian markets for this Evora now. There is enough of a gap in the US for example for something like this to exist at that price...
I do hope that you're right, but my gut tells me that powerful and pitiless forces are creating tremendous downward pressure on all but the most exclusive exotics. There's a lot of interest in performance vehicles in the US, and the market is teeming with choice.

While I wish that this gorgeous blue car could be purchased for £60,000, I believe that's a bit low -- in terms of price / brand / value -- to be honest.

In my (uninformed) opinion, we should be looking at an RRP that is comfortably south of six figures. Depends on the country, obviously.

Also, while I don't want to be heretical, I wonder if it now makes sense to manufacture only the flagship Lotus product in Hethel -- and to produce all of the brand's other consumer vehicles in China. The advantages to pricing and scale could be significant (and without compromise on quality).

This is getting ridiculous-page 3 and still awaiting Porsche911r to comment about excessive cost and wallet busting residuals shout

Looks amazing, I'd take it over the German equivalents all day long-Dare to be different! (although I would say that keeping it under £100k would have been a wiser marketing ploy)

Shame they have not used the louvers in the hood over the front wheels. Don't understand that not being included when it really differentiates between models such as the 400 &410. I can understand the mesh being added to the bumper exits from the rear wheels for the road car. Stones would be thrown into oncoming car windscreens but it does look cool seeing the tyres through the carbon bumper. The front bumper/spoiler/splitter could be more aggressive like the track version.

Finally, the Evora is looking like a supercar. I hope there are more extreme versions to come with more power. Shame they have not released a new GTE version. It was wider at the rear and looked great. Shame so few were built for the Chinese market before it fell through and most are left to rot. I would have loved to have seen one with the Cosworth engine. Fingers crossed they bring out a new version!!

There was a Lotus concept circa ~1999/2000 that never made it to production; what was that called! The something 250? L250? Something like that?

Am I misremembering that this looks sorta a bit like that?

Just seen the photo below - never knew it had those doors wobble

Absolutely love it but far too much - it needs to be £60k. I'd rather try and find another £30k for a used GT3 than £100k on a Lotus. So a real shame.

Btw surprised to hear the damning GT4 comments - I thought it was God's gift to PH?!

Optimistic pricing of rehashed Emperor's Clothes. The real thing won't look anything like the CGIs you see here. It will smell like a Kayak and devalue like a Peugeot 607...

Okay, flame suit on. But if Lotus really wants to survive and be profitable, they should extend their aluminium chassis dimensions, technical know how, top shelf components, boosted but reliable Toyota engine and.....

build a good looking, light(er) weight, sports SUV.

In which direction and to what ends? If you mean build an SUV, it'll probably happen.

Great stuff, by your reckoning I"ll be able to pick one up in 3 years time for around £10K, count me in!

Looks good. Not convinced though. It's too expensive. Needs more R&D and a bespoke engine to command that sort of price.

Can you please elaborate on this? I am surprised as pretty much all the magazines rated it so highly.
