Well, I was lucky enough to order one of these, and have chosen "Dijon" blue as the colour. I love these lower powered Caterhams, with skinny tyres and a focus on handling and fun. The car has some lovely details, I think. Will be a lovely addition to my R400, and a great car for a bit of English B-road fun.

Excellent job Caterham!

P.s. Slap those classic adornments and (wider!) steelies on a 310 please Caterham (however, keep the tiny steering wheel). That would elicit a "Take My Money" shout and an order. 😎

Great news for Caterham... and utterly lovely to behold.

That silvery-grey No.10 from those photos for me, please. Motoring perfection.

they look nice - but slap the correct road legal plates on in bright yellow / white and they won't look quite so retro...
however, nicely done and good to see that they are not just pursuing BHP
There are suppliers of the old raised style plates, in yellow rear, white front style) you know, the type everyone replaced with Perspex for a modern look... A cheap dvla personalised reg which hides the age a bit or just looks older (the popular C7 'xxx' for example) and you get a nice retro look. add a vintage GB plate for the 'just off to the continent' look. Job jobbed.

I think Caterham might do well to offer the retro-styling as a standard option. If they'd do one with the Ford Sigma engine....

In reality, if you are wearing one of these plates on a retro looking car, are you going to get 'pulled'? PS - I got one, and have found a few options with these HUI number plates.

Amazing how much better the car looks with the Brooklands aero screens than the full windscreen.
It would be very easy to recreate this sort of vibe on any Caterham really, Which I mean in a good way, as opposed to making any negative comment about the Supersprint.

One of the issues with aeroscreens is that you cannot have a hood, for use when the weather is really bad. The normal windscreen does of course provide barn door aerodynamics for the7& which is already fairly compromised in the drag department.
I was at the Caterham stand at Goodwood when the heavens opened up in nearly biblical proportions so not sure I would want to be in/on any open motorized vehicle in those conditions.
The car in question did look good, and surprisingly the light brown interior seem to work quite well. I am not a fan of vomit brown interior trim, but it did seem to complement this particular rage of seven.
The fact that the car was sold out by the evening of the first day at Goodwood, gives the lie to the idea that it was too expensive,
People will pay what they think is suitable for a product, be it a seven, a pullover, or an expensive watch. If these are the same as Caterhams generally they wont lose much, if anything on them even after years of ownership. and that in itself makes them reasonable value for money.

Nice choice, you going for the aeroscreen of roof?

having been at Harewood yesterday, I can vouch for the fact that the hood is a worthwhile option even if it does steam up so badly inside you cannot actually see out.

ps, that's the second time I've had the hood on the car that built in 1991, i usually just put up with a bit of rain but yesterday was torrential at times.

Definitely the aeroscreen. It looks fabulous and it is definitely not going to be a daily driver smile

Any owners still on the site? Oft wondered about these but the Suzuki turbo triple seems somewhat at odds with the Caterham ethos, a real world comparison would be great.
