As above, the juke gets a lot of bad press on here, I like them, although I've never driven one so not sure if my opinion is valid or not?
Had a couple of hire cars whilst waiting for my new company car. First was an Insignia. Utterly hateful thing that made as little effort as possible to fufil the role of being a car. It got swapped after a few weeks to a Juke and over the next couple of months I became quite attached. Great little car with bags of personality and the kids loved it as well.

Had a Fiat Multipla as a holiday hire car for a couple of weeks in Greece many years ago. Again, bags of character and so much better than usual Vauxhall/Peugeot offerings. Ridiculously practical, loved the dashmount gear change and just made me smile.

Wouldn't buy either, but much better than a lot of the dross out there and their reputations would have you believe.

For me (as well as both the Renault Avantime and the Renault Vel Satis) it's the Mk.1 Fiat Multipla:

An interesting piece of design that, although not pretty, is quite practical for its type.

Hilarious. Never heard that before. You simply must give up your day job and pursue stand-up comedy. Please, do feel free to make a follow-up using Puke instead of Juke it is just so hill-air and on-trend.
Doesn't seem to be doing Nissan any harm flogging them they are everywhere, yes they arent pretty but people seem to like them, there does seem to be a tendency to say something is rubbish just because its a bit different tor you dont like the looks. Its keeping folk in jobs in Washington which I believe is in Northenland somewhere, beyond the wall.

C4 Cactus
I don't get the hate for the Cactus at all - most non car people I know have voiced a very negative opinion on it. it's something quirky in a very dull, bland crossover market. I would buy one!

..
I did. Had it 2 yrs, it goes on Thursday. It's been great. Does everything it says on the tin, and my youngest found it very easy to learn in. Had no issues at all.

A little behind the times perhaps, but my dream car as a kid was a Talbot Solara paperbag
I got up to 83mph in a Talbot Solara on the hill into Cherbourg, trying to catch a ferry.

It was 50% steel, 50% filler.

I would tell you what happened next, but you wouldn't believe me.

I had, and loved, a 530d GT. Hugely underrated car, and perfect when you have kids and/or sport equipment the lug about.

Is it really underrated or just disliked for its bulky looks and general lack of style?

I would imagine (as a non-owner) that it performs exactly like a 5 series saloon, which seem to be generally well-regarded.

It does tick the "unpopular" box though smile

Maybe better - aren't they based on the 7-Series or have I made that up?

Always liked the mk1 Octavia even though the mk4 Golf I had was horrific.
But that was a really popular car. They sold stloads. Same with the Nissan Juke
Which, the Octavia or the Golf?

Octavia may have sold fairly well but it's not a popular car from a 'I want one' standpoint for most people.

I would love one of these if they built one with a 1.6 THP, that's honestly all that puts me off, I think they're great but then I'd own an 80s American 'woody' wagon, not far off the same style with the side panels in my head.

There's me thinking this was a thread about "unpopular" cars; 2 or three posts in and someone mentions the extremely popular Juke!!

For what it's worth, I like the styling too, not very nice to drive though, crap interior space.

Again just noticed the Cactus being mentioned, last time I looked, they seemed quite popular.

The Avantime and Vel-Satis are fantastic looking cars and fantastic cars to travel in, they aren't really that bad to drive either; ok the Avantime isn't that great to drive but it is a fairly good wafter.

Having owned an F10 5 Series and been driven around in a GT a number of times the GT is the nicer place to spend time and very practical. Extra room everywhere and a bit more plush.

Not a looker though.

No, very underrated. Adaptive Suspension, 7 Series Comfort seats (front and rear) & high-quality Dash, huge practicality (650litre boot space or LWB 7-Series rear leg room), airy cabin thanks to glass roof. Elevated driver and passenger seating position....

Yes, based on 7-series chassis, with adaptive suspension and with 7-series seats & interior, plus full length panoramic glass roof.

No. Look only a mother could love. Looks akin to a Ginger Step child.

....but even then, from the rear in the right colour/wheel combo, it's got a certain grace. The front though..... vomit

These and a Nissan cube are cars I've always liked and Mrs 316 has always vetoed, probably just as well

I'm a big fan of both the Multipla (original not facelift) and the Cube, I think the Cube was only officially on sale here for a couple of years.

We very nearly bought a Multipla, at the time my wife was a childminder and decided that she wanted the peace of mind of 7 seats so we ended up with a MkI Zafira.
