Looks great. Get some hounds tooth seats.
Can you spec rear seats being a Touring?
Be interesting to see if 996 and 997 GT3 (especially Comfort spec) owners chop in their cars for a 991.2 GT3 Touring.
More vehicles in the marketplace can only be good for enthusiasts.
No i wouldnt chop mine in for one, its not hard to make a tourer using an older GT3.Can you spec rear seats being a Touring?

All you need is either the pop-up spoiler from the normal C2 or ducktail (yes the underside of the spoiler needs to be the GT3 underside as they are different), and a retrim and job done.
You could then add some rear seats in the 996 or 997.1 if you wanted to make it more of a tourer or add a cage for a more gentlemans racer type
And from memory in a 997mrear seats not so easy due to thinner floor or some such thing

In the U.K. Maybe, in Germany you will have trouble with TÜV - you can't even put bucket seats into a car that came without them without going through an annoying approval process for modified cars

Oh dear how sad, good job im not in Germany. And from memory in a 997mrear seats not so easy due to thinner floor or some such thing
though a chap who is modifying his 996 C2 with lots of custom parts os going through TUV approval for alot of parts so he can sell. If i was German and i wanted to go through the process to get something i wanted then i would. He posts on here if you care to look and follow his thread
America doesnt have an issue with modding either and are more active id say than the Euro lot.
996 and 997.1's you could do rear seats, 997.2's you couldnt. I was lead to believe that in the 991.1 you couldnt either but someone on here has installed them
It goes so far that I will likely register a car in the U.K. To make changes to and just bring it back every 6 months to keep up the pretence of it being there.
To top it all off, in Munich (where I live) they are rigorous about noise, so if it's too loud - even with a manufacturer sports exhaust - the car will be banned subject to a noise re-test
Sh!tshow all around

The 997.1 GT3 at least is only a 2 seater on the V5 and so adding seats can cause paperwork/insurance issues
The 997.1 was the last GT3 you could retrofit, as it retained some of the right bits. I had a converted on myself. The 997.2 only had a single skin floor to compensate for weight gained elsewhere.

Another sold out GT3 before it's even got near the showroom.
Not really for the man on the street then.
Must still be a Porsche hedge fund
The GT3 Touring Package is an option on the current GT3 and not a stand alone model so only current GT3 allocation owners can spec the touring pack. Not really for the man on the street then.
Must still be a Porsche hedge fund

I've never understood this accusation. If I were Porsche I'd put a much bigger mark up on all the GT models (£200k plus for those that have been trading at those levels secondary). Not really for the man on the street then.

The fact that they have resisted this temptation and offer the base GT3 at only £120k or whatever is to be applauded.

Why? Shareholders certainly won't applaud Porsche undertaking some obscure business model that involves selling something with strong demand and limited supply at far below its market value. And everyone who can't get one of these because of the equally obscure distribution model have no reason to applaud. Indeed the only winners from them under-pricing the car are the lucky few who get one. So let them clap away The fact that they have resisted this temptation and offer the base GT3 at only £120k or whatever is to be applauded.

Im always a little puzzled by the hate shwn towards OPC's in the last 16 years I have bought 14 new cars the last one being a Porsche and truthfully I didnt have a problem in fact its fair to say that they were probally the best to deal with in my exprience , I walked in off the street made an enquiry they got back to me within 24hrs said I could have a car for a day to test and in all dealings since have treated very well , admittedly I wasnt buying anything exotic (boxster 981 GTS) and it may have been differant if I was (or trying to) but as others have said it makes sense that valued customers get VIP treatment
It's not about regular, full production models.GT3hopeful said:
I thought a Touring was an estate version???
Been on a GT3 waiting list and ended up buying a GTS - disappointing car kept it 6 months and won't be drawn into 911 waiting list hype again . 997 was much better sports car IMO.
That's interesting, many people seem to really like the GTS. i loved my friend's manual 997.2 S and thought it was pretty much a perfect daily/sports car. So I take it the 991 even in GTS spec not so great? What did you not like about it?Been on a GT3 waiting list and ended up buying a GTS - disappointing car kept it 6 months and won't be drawn into 911 waiting list hype again . 997 was much better sports car IMO.

still won't be able to get one, wondering if OPC's will be continuing to essentially accept bribes to get on the list?
That's a big claim and one certainly my local OPC would never do...I hope you can back this up if OPC's threaten legal action on you?/irony

Unlike the five 991 gt3rs in my local opc at one point with no more than 1000 miles, I do drive mine at least 3k per year and at least 2 times on track - I've owned different pork for 6 years and not a hedge fund for me.
So not for any old joe - still don't understand pork supply and demand - don't mind waiting too much for 12 month delivery but no allocation means nothing

The above poster could be taken to court for libel. He would have to pay damages which would equate to the estimated amount representing a financial equivalent of the 'cost' of the damage. Never quite understood how someone being unhappy could have a monetary amount applied, but in this case it could be argued that the statement cost them X amount of sales and future sales which equated to lost revenue/brand devalue of £Xmillion.
That's not a bribe - it's a loss that the OP would have to replace.
So, it turns out that this was all a PR stunt, or misinterpreted (being kind here) by the media as "a different model anyone can buy".
I sort-of expected that. Shame, really.
I also don't understand the logic of having way too few cars built, but it may be that the true demand for a GT3 isn't really all that big, and Porsche need the production line to make C4 convertibles instead.
