They had to do something - as far as I can tell Porsche had nothing from their core Sports line to warrant any press in Frankfurt this year. They had the Cayenne, but that was it. All press and stories would have been about other manufacturers...so they had to find something to get a few column inches.

Bigging up an 'option pack' like this really just feels like a desperate attempt, but ho hum. It's worked!

Not even close to being the same thing.

The above poster could be taken to court for libel. He would have to pay damages which would equate to the estimated amount representing a financial equivalent of the 'cost' of the damage. Never quite understood how someone being unhappy could have a monetary amount applied, but in this case it could be argued that the statement cost them X amount of sales and future sales which equated to lost revenue/brand devalue of £Xmillion.

That's not a bribe - it's a loss that the OP would have to replace.
I'm not too worried about it, there was a thread in the Porsche section about it which has stood for months where several posters mentioned their dealers stating this - none have been taken to court yet.

Didn't think you would be fella - was daft of anyone to imagine that someone posting on a forum would even register as a blip on Porsche's (or an OPC's) radar. I really just wanted to highlight the daftness of it all. biggrin

still won't be able to get one, wondering if OPC's will be continuing to essentially accept bribes to get on the list?
That's a big claim and one certainly my local OPC would never do...I hope you can back this up if OPC's threaten legal action on you?

It would appear not. Which kind of spoils it for me.

Surprised there's no PDK option however (even as a manual guy myself), if your daily commute includes lots of traffic it would be nice to have the choice.
Yeah, obvious decision turning down a car that will carry a huge premium from new !

It's not about regular, full production models.
Hi Vee12V , I do get that although I had been told they were difficult to deal with generally and I havent found that to be the case but with regard to non regular stuff , from a porsche/opc perspective it makes sense to keep the people who spend money with them hapy

Cheers
