How long was yours at the QA stage? Mine is still showing as QA.

My build date has moved from 09/12 to 04/12. According to my dealer R8's that have been sold will be built before a car going into dealer stock so we might see our cars being built a little early. He has no idea on total UK numbers or if they have all been sold yet. Can't be long now before we see the motoring press getting first drives.
I'm guessing there won't be more than 100 in the UK.Tarka said:

Just a day. As I understand it if it goes beyond two days there is a major problem and the car has been off-lined for rectification...Mine had that status for three days or so? I think this tracker is a fairly crude gimmick when it comes to tracking the actual assembly process. If Neckarsulm is like any other low volume plant I've worked in then they will probably add the VIN to the painted body when it starts final assembly. I think at that point (on the tracker) the car goes from zero to QA in one hit. Cars probably take a couple of days to assemble but then there are weekends and such like to get in the way. Yours will probably ship tomorrow...

It’s now at the dealers. Hope to see it on Monday but pick up will not be until late December...
Got to sell my car first before I take mine but I'm in no real hurry, it has essentially come a few months earlier than expected. I'm all the way in Scotland and my dealer is Newcastle as Edinburgh and Glasgow Audi are just really poor for customer service. If I can get a free day at the weekend I'll try and pop down to see it.Ares said:

I drove the old R8 manual and auto at an RS day 3 years ago. The Manual was such a dog, anyone that took it out (for 40 mins slots), brought it back within 10 minutes.Looked nice, open gate, but just ruined the drive of an otherwise nice car, reminded me of my mother 1970's Beetle gearbox, only worse. Jumping into the Auto was like fast-forwarding 20 years.
Could have been a dog, but at an Audi RS day, I doubt it.
The R8 is pretty tail happy for an Audi, so no burning platform for a RWD version.
