Congratulations on another delivery. Mine seems to have gone missing after leaving the factory. Left on 04/12 and still no sign of it arriving at the dealers.

Another one landed! Don’t think im gonna be able to wait till new registrations in March!
Had a previous model V8 a few years ago (which blew up....twice!), so interested to see what difference the drivetrain makes.

All looking good there...

First c150 miles done this weekend and I love it it more. Actually more traction than I was expecting on the standard pzeros, but plenty to learn still!

Cover over 1300 miles in mine now, on the winter tyres ContiWinterContact TS860 S on the rear and TS830 P on the front. Traction control light does come on when the foot is fully planted in the lower gears but really happy at how it doesn't feel intrusive and does just enough to keep the forward motion going. Overall grip is great, took it out on the back roads just this past weekend for the first time and really enjoyed giving it a good thrashing.

Chatting with a car nut friend over the weekend, the R8 RWS came up in conversation, he talked about it as if it was an accident waiting to happen, and reading the surprise that the car hasn't tried to kill drivers in RWD format seems to be similarly a little wide of the mark?

I love that Audi offering the RWS, but with the AWD version being so rear biased, and the power being fairly modest in today's supercar terms, it's not as if this is akin to am early 911 GT2 Widowmaker.

Sure, take all traction control off and there is a good chance for some rear-biased fun, but plenty of cars run RWD with that power quite comfortably without having the grim reaper as a permanent passenger??

I'm 1100 miles up, so pushing the car properly now when appropriate. I had an early morning blast from Barnsley to Glossop on the Woodhead pass (A628) on Saturday morning. Freezing cold, windswept, bleak, slippy slidey as you like! A great road when its not shut in winter!

The car was great. Really easy to drive briskly. Traction is very good and because the engine is NA and quite top endy it is easy to modulate the power very accurately without a sudden unwanted rush of boost. It was an easier drive in those conditions than my previous M2. The car feels like its on your side... Of course you have 500+BHP under your foot so you need to treat that with due respect. But that's how it should be anyway! I imagine a 500BHP M4 GTS would have been a real handful though...

True, but my daily driver has 500bhp and is as easy to drive as a 2.0 diesel (albeit a little more fun wink ).

Seems to be a sense that this is a widow-maker in the making, and that by dumping the AWD drivetrain is a high-risk strategy, when 500bhp RWD cars are not a rare commodity. Now if it had 800bhp.... wink

Anyone seen an RWS Spyder yet? I'd not seen any (and a soft-top wouldn't suit me), but interested to see if anyone went for one...

Not seen or heard of any... My understanding from Audi when I placed my order was that there would be 75~100 Max RWS coming to UK and 2/3 would be Spyder's.... Anyone else hear anything different? I love the Spyder but personally can't get on with the driving position.

Snap! Same as mine except I went for silver 20" wheels as I don't like black. Mine is sitting at the dealer as well but I've not seen it yet. I am away Skiing for the first couple of weeks in March so I might delay collection until 1st April if I can wait that long wink

Please let me know when you're next blatting down the Woodhead as I'd love to see a RWS being driven well in person.

I visit Sheffield an awful lot and always use the Woodhead (usually against my better judgement given the traffic) and it's a lovely part of the world, seeing it in an R8 RWS must be alright eh?

I tried Adrian Flux but they were more than twice the quote I had from Admiral.
