Much to my wife's dismay, I've gone for exactly the colours (inc wheels) as the launch car in the article, PLUS:

4ZH Audi exclusive Gloss Titanium Black Exterior Styling Pack

YTW Decals - Red Stripe (oh yes!)

6FJ Door mirror housing - Gloss black

PC2 Red brake calipers

UI2 Smart Phone Interface 0P8 Sport exhaust system

My spec may be a little subtle with highlights of:
Daytona
Sports Exhaust
Smart Interface

I will see if I can add gloss mirrors next week!

I did fancy black with the red decals but Mrs Gr8 ruled it out on the basis that it was 'too A-team'.

Me too
Blue
Gloss black blades
Sports exhaust
20" wheels in silver
Bose.

No stripes.
Trying to get Cup2s tyres as well (option on the plus). But will just buy some if not factory fit.

Audi configurator is very poor, keeps crashing when I load R8RWS, hope it's not an omen.

Have asked for spring delivery as it won't get any use over winter. No build week yet. Would be quite happy to register it in March18 just in time for the track day season. Try this ilo GT3 as porsche won't sell me one any more. Shame it's the same company group, but I won't darken porsche doors again.
Thinking about the sports seats but not had chance to try any, the harness holes would be handy. I like the look of the standard seats trim which I don't think is available on the sports seats, which are all leather? Not sure about all the trim fripperies seems a lot of wasted cash, is the perceived wisdom that there are any "must have for resale" items.

Tyres,

myself and Bigmowley have been investigating the situation regardin Cup 2 tyres so I thought I would share that with any interested parties.

My Audi Dealer has been on the case with respect to cup tyres. In the end the regional manager got in touch with the R8 product manager in Ingolstadt.

As we know a specific variant of Cup2’s was developed for the gen 2 R8. This apparently is available as OE in the US only and the take up is “quite high.”

Unfortunately they are not homologated as OE for European markets, probably due to the high cost of homologation for emissions and drive by noise I guess? Apparently the lower take up wouldn’t justify the additional costs (I think the regs are less stringent in US?)…

Of course the specific tyre can be fitted post purchase and they have been developed around the 20“ wheel.

I hope this helps!

Good to see a few more on here who have ordered a car!

Cheers

T

Thanks for the tyre update. They are listed on Camskills tyres website as available in the 20" size. Not too horrendously priced either. Might be worth getting them as Michelin tend to only make batches from time to time.
Anybody got a delivery date yet.
Anybody ordered a ragtop??

Found this Tango Red R8+ at West London Audi yesterday. This is how mine will look (Wheels and black blades too) minus the spoiler of course. Releived that I like it in the metal!

That Tango Red looks really good. I was tempted by Tango but couldn’t see one in the flesh so I’ve gone Ara Blue instead. I’ve been told build week 49 with delivery early Jan but I might wait until March to register it as well.
Spec:
Ara Blue
Black Blades
20” Black Alloys
Sports Exhaust
Alcantara Headlining
Smart Phone

Just found this thread. I've had an R8 RWS on order since the order book opened. My car is due to go into build on the 20th of November. Spec is:

Tango Red, standard black 19" black wheels, Mynthos black side blade, red leather interior, red calipers, sports exhaust, rear view camera, smart phone and as I plan to keep the car a while I've also speced the 5 year warranty too for piece of mind.

I've been driving Lotus cars for the last 8 years so wanted to stay mid engined and RWD but wanted a more exotic engine and the noise that comes with it for the extra money. Everything else is Turbo charged these days so the noise these cars make doesn't do it for me so the NA V10 is right up my street. Would have been great to be manual also but seems you can't have everything these days but I'm sure I'll survive.

I've noticed a few people say but the normal R8 is 15/85 front to rear split, which does make it rear biased power/torque delivery but it's still not permanently like that and the car decides for you what the split is at any particular point in time so the driving sensation is not the same as pure RWD. Anyone that has read the Huracan LP580-2 reviews will quickly find out that it is the preferred choice between it and the LP610-4 for driver enjoyment so I'm hoping the same will be the case for the RWS.

I've also heard a rumor that only 50 RWS are coming to the UK so if that's the case it will be a nice bonus to have a car that is fairly limited in availability.

Nice one! Another Tango! Well played! I just heard yesterday that my car is built (a week early) mine is possibly the first RHD car. Should be here before Christmas... my understanding is 75 to 100 uk cars but the majority will be rag tops.

Nice one, interesting that the majority are going to be convertible. I think mine will turn up early January but I'll likely not actually take delivery till the start of March depending on when I've sold my car. I don't intend to put my car up for sale until January anyway.

Have you heard if the automotive press are getting a car anytime soon to road test?

That’s exactly the same message I have on the tracker. I notice your order date is identical to mine too!

That must be the first official date in the system, my order actually went in on the 24th of September the day the order books opened.
If the car is built now that must mean it will turn up at the dealer in December?

My build date has moved from 09/12 to 04/12. According to my dealer R8's that have been sold will be built before a car going into dealer stock so we might see our cars being built a little early. He has no idea on total UK numbers or if they have all been sold yet. Can't be long now before we see the motoring press getting first drives.
