Dacia Duster. My streets full of them...

It is also available with a hybrid and 4 wheel drive.
It's a very mild 'mild hybrid' though, using the same 1.2 Dualjet engine so it doesn't really buy you anything apart from slightly better economy. The Ignis is light enough that the 1.0L Boosterjet would give it warm hatch performance, but should still be good on fuel.LDN said:

Are these any good....? The value for money looks very impressive.
They are everywhere in France and across Europe. The new one is a big step up, cabin and ride wise, apparently. I’ve no first hand knowledge of them though. My business does a lot of work for the local Renault/Nissan/Dacia dealership, so we’ve had a few of the latest model Dusters in our workshop (fitting spoilers, polishing, colour coding, and other customer requests)
I’ll be honest, when we got one in, we all looked round it and couldn’t help but be impressed by how much better the exterior looks, and how much nicer the interior is.
They look great on the outside now, especially like the big ‘vents’ on the front wings, and the Jeep Renegade style tail lights. Makes the car look a lot more chunky and premium.
The interior is hugely better. Machined alloy knobs on the heater controls etc. All looks really good.
Drove really well, and it was the 1.6 petrol model.
I was that impressed with the last one I found myself looking at them on eBay/Autotrader, and found that you could buy a pre-reg model with a couple of hundred miles on it, in the 1.6 petrol and few a few nice extras on it for around £13,500, if you shopped around.
Mental.

They don't seem to have forgotten the value of money so generally don't spunk away tens of thousands they haven't yet earned on some car they don't really have need of.
The French, Spanish, Italians etc will happily drive the family round in a Dacia Duster, Citroen C4, Fiat Tipo etcIt’s a car. It’s comfortable and it gets you around.
Over here, we have housing estates full of couples and families absolutely crucifying themselves financially just so they can have a Range Rover Evoque or a BMW X3 on the drive.

I'd cheerfully take a Duster or a Berlingo or a Roomster over something more aspirational any day. Find me one with a few dents and scrapes and that really could do with a wash then I'd be even happier.

My sister ordered one of the new ones in June, it's not expected till January, keeps getting delayed due to demand. Seems the new one is quite popular
I’ll bet. As stated above, they’ve really sorted both the cabin and the exterior... looks better than a Qashqai or Kadjar, etc now IMO, so I see these now gaining traction in this market. I’d prefer one over any of the equivalents. The first one is still a solid steed. Just to put it in perspective:
The new Duster can be had for £129 per month.
Or the Sandero for £79 per month.
The cheapest 4 door Ford Fiesta 1.0 is £18,000 or £229 per month.
Those prices are direct from Dacia and Ford, over 3 years, and all with optional final payments (which of course you won’t pay, and will hand it back and just get another new one instead).
It should be noted that the optional final payment for the Fiesta was thousands higher than either of the Dacia models.

Hello,
does anyone here have first-hand experience with a Dacia Lodgy ?
I am thinking of buying one as a company car ( 115hp Diesel ), throw out the second (and third) row
and have a slightly more civilian version of the bare-metal Dokker.
Install a solid divider (with 2CV heated rear glass) and have enough heating / aircon
because I have read of capability problems in that sector, and adding a bit of sound protection.
Would be enough for hauling a small-ish bike around and do some rough camping.

I went to North Wales last year and it would seem every other car was a fking Dacia.
Dacia dealer in Llandudno Junction can't throw them out quick enough, I've even had the OH auntie get one as it was better for her to pay a fixed price per month for a brand new car with warranty than it was to throw good money after bad on her 10 plate KA (receipts came to 4k for the last 5yrs or so).OH's grandfather also had a Duster, being a retired farmer he can appreciate a vehicle that does what it says on the tin, he had no need for all the bluetooth and SatNav that came with his previous Kuga, in fact I think he enjoyed trading it in, getting a new car and a cheque for £1500 his way lol
I test drove one and gave it serious thought. I need a 4wd off road capable small SUV and whilst I ended up with another pre owned Yeti the Duster was tempting. Nicely equipped, lovely absorbent ride and very quiet diesel compared to my diet of VAG jobs. And the dealer was the friendliest and most decent I have ever encountered .
