My 2014 Astra Sport Tourer has just clocked 100k today. This is no big deal these days but what is amazing is that the original Goodyear rear tyres are still ok. 3-4 mm left on both at this time. The rear brake pads and discs are also original tho the pads are getting low and will be replaced next month when the car is serviced.
I have never got such high mileage out of tyres before, they are not old as are just under 4 years old and there are no cracks so I figure there is no reason to change them just yet.

I've had rear tyres on FWD cars that are barely worn at all after 25k, so can see 100k being possible. My front have worn after 8k though so you can tell where the weight is.

I got 60,000 miles out of a set of Hankook tyres, swapped the around every now and again. They were a little close to the legal limit when I changed them though.

Don't take it to Kwik-Fit they'll tell you the tyres are dangerous and should have been changed all round thousands of miles ago rofl

The company I work for has gone down the lease van route, the last time I went to Kwik-Fit they changed three tyres, but would not change the fourth as it wasn't below 2.5mm yet, which is the lease company's threshold...

My last set of Conti winters did 60k switching front to back once, that included two full summers, and the discs on the back of my Merc are still the originals at 295k miles. They might need changing in a few more k miles I suppose.

This really frustrates me as a company car driver, luckily I've got to know the local ATS guys and they bend the truth slightly

I'd get through at least forty sets of rears in the Atom in 100k miles. It would also take forty years.

The first year I had my Evo I did just over 14,000 miles in it during which time it had a set of tyres at every service. The service intervals are 4500 miles.......

I think maybe I'll start looking for an Astra.

I better not start the new tyres on the rear bit then....;). My 640 has unfortunately only managed to really wear 1 tyre down to change (1 rear tyre offside), 1 puncture (front offside), 2 cuts (the same rear nearside), and 1 bulge (front nearside) killed the others.

Yeah but I'd love a fun car like that, that is what Evos are all about

100k does seem alot of miles but it all depends on driving location e.g lots of motorway i'd expect them to be fine, round rural roads with large pots holes or urban driving i'd have expected atleast 45000 punctures! if they look fine then keep them on.

our Juke was on it's 4th set of front tyres at 30k miles and rears looked like they had barely been scrubbed.

It depends of the type of driving you do.

I bought a second hand fiesta with 60k on the clock. Tyres were not new but had reasonable tread on them. I put another 66k on those tyres without needing to replace them, and when i sold the car they were still legal.

That was 95% motorway driving.

Thats pretty crap, i'd never change only one tyre on an axle, its got to be both for me

I am a working drummer so there sure is a lot of miles sat on motorways. I also teach in some wealthy private schools so have weekly jaunts up some horrible rural, speed bump pot holed roads.
