Kind of annoying that VW now have R Line as they have diesels within that model so just hoping they release the R's so the thieves have something to do for the next few weeks.

They're not really doing it for private ends (in their minds) so I don't think it applies. I'd apply a method they use with pirates though, water cannons. Seeing them blasted off into the sea would make great entertainment viewing for everybody.Piracy consists of any of the following acts:

I wonder how the older members of CND/Greenpeace reconcile with the fact that in the 70s they were the ones driving around in diesels all at the exact time the original air pollution papers were being published that showed how much more dangerous diesel was over petrol. Eh ? Diesel estates in the 70s ? In theory you could buy a 404 or Merc diesel but hardly anybody bought diesels in the UK until well into the 80s when the 205 and Golf D got some market share.
