You all seem to be missing the point that there is scientific evidence to back up what they're doing

I live on the isle of sheppey where this is and the police presence has quadrupled since yesterday. There were eight police riot vans parked up at the local Morrisons yesterday when I went in

I assume from the large police presence in Morrisons there were no doughnuts left for regular customers then!?. biglaugh

Just my luck. My new VW is on-board.

Thought i was in a similar situation (had convinced myself) however my Golf R is on a ship leaving for the UK today.

Had that not been the case & GP were holding up my delivery, i'd have jumped in my Audi Diesel, driven down to the port & applied appropriate levels of shoeing to each & everyone of them.

Also on that note, are the Pirates PH enough to only take the keys out of the Diesel cars & release the petrol cars forthwith?

Kind of annoying that VW now have R Line as they have diesels within that model so just hoping they release the R's so the thieves have something to do for the next few weeks.

Piracy is good enough for me

Piracy consists of any of the following acts:

"Any illegal acts of violence or detention, or any act of depredation, committed for private ends by the crew or the passengers of a private ship or a private aircraft, and directed on the high seas, against another ship or aircraft, or against persons or property on board such ship or aircraft (or) against a ship, aircraft, persons or property in a place outside the jurisdiction of any state;
"Any act of voluntary participation in the operation of a ship or of an aircraft with knowledge of facts making it a pirate ship or aircraft;
"Any act of inciting or of intentionally facilitating an act described (above)"

So why doesnt the frigging govt do anything about it

This is international law as laid down by the UN
They're not really doing it for private ends (in their minds) so I don't think it applies. I'd apply a method they use with pirates though, water cannons. Seeing them blasted off into the sea would make great entertainment viewing for everybody.

I wonder how the older members of CND/Greenpeace reconcile with the fact that in the 70s they were the ones driving around in diesels all at the exact time the original air pollution papers were being published that showed how much more dangerous diesel was over petrol. You never saw a diesel Peugeot estate without a CND badge in suburbia.

Still, the young chaps on this boat just need to be shot with tranquillisers and carefully returned to their natural habitat, like Islington.

It's really the fault of the people who think it's nice to feed them. They then lose their fear of humans and stray into our habitat, become confused and scared and cause damage.
Eh ? Diesel estates in the 70s ? In theory you could buy a 404 or Merc diesel but hardly anybody bought diesels in the UK until well into the 80s when the 205 and Golf D got some market share.

Is that in case Swampy and his mates try and confiscate their keys too?
