If you fancy a bit of nostalgia:

http://retromash.com/argos/

It has PDF versions of most 80's catalogues as well a lot of 70's, 90's and 00's.
As child of the 80's, I can recall the new spring/summer/autumn/winter edition coming and spending at least a week looking at would you will probably never have but would love to own.

My children do a similar thing now except they are watching others play/review toys on YouTube rather than looking at 1 or 2 pictures of each toy.

Haha, I've just forwarded that link to my brother; he was an avid fan of the Argos catalogue. A couple of months ago I was visiting him and his family and was reading his kids' a bedtime story. Went into my nephew's (he's 7) room to see what he was reading and it was the Argos catalogue! Like father, like son.

In fact, as sad as it is, I remember that page of the Walkmans.

As Bill Bailey once said: The Laminated book of dreams!

Some corking gear there from the 70's.

And if whatever item you were buying was out of stock you'd head over to Index to see if they had it.

Page 112 of Autumn/Winter 1989 rather surprised me. I imagine as a young man I would have been able to quote you the size, price and catalogue numbers of the Sovereign and Triton shower screens.

This is a link to the Issuu website where he has hosted it all. I found his website was blocked by my work firewall, but Issuu is not:

I used to enjoy looking at the sunbeds, if I remember rightly, but thanks for the tip on the showers.

Also a massive fan of the Casio watches page. hehe

Do you mind gents ....that was the dubious claim to fame of my then 18 y.o sis!!! (And no, before anyone asks...I'm not posting current pics either) although pretty sure she could still convincingly recreate...

fking Index!! Blast from the past or what!

Motoring alert- bought my first car stereo from them. PYE for £90. It was removable by which I mean the whole thing came out and you carried it around like a briefcase. Never thought that thieves could just mug me instead of going to the trouble of breaking into my magnificent Renault 5 Tc.

I'm astonished how mush stuff from the earliest catalogues that I remember from when I was a small boy.
