Sellers that won't tell you what they sold it for

I'm in the 'It's none of your business' camp. It's just plain rude to ask about anyone's financial dealings that don't involve you. You might as well ask me how much I earn 'cos you fancy the same sort of job.
Agreed. I had one bloke ask once - I told him to ask the guy who just bought it. He called me a tosser and hung up
I have asked this question before (twice) and got positive responses both times. In fairness, they were both "enthusiast" cars (one was a VX220 and the other was a classic Mini). Since both owners were on the respective owners' club forums I suspect it wouldn't have been too difficult to conduct some sleuthing and find out if the sellers weren't forthcoming.
Your man selling a 2009 Insignia diesel may not want to admit what he sold it for.

I'm a bit in the middle on this and it would depend on who was doing the asking and how they went about it.
Far more annoying to me is people who don't put a selling price in their ad. Happens mostly on car forums, which many thankfully have in their T&C's that you have to put a price. So, an ad goes up with all the bull and then no price. Mod reminds advertiser that he/she must put a price. Price goes up with apology that they forget the price. Forgot my ass. How do you forget to put the price on anything you advertise.
I don't know why people do it but it seems to happen a lot around the old interwebs.
