I'm not the target audience, but... who is? A two hundred grand diesel - who pays that for a car, but worries about mpg? I just don't get it at all.

I just can't imagine who in their right mind would spend that much money on one of these ugly machines. It redefines undesirable. I'll be amazed if they sell even fifty.
I would say it would be more about range and time to fill than fuel cost.

^^^ rolleyes What an arsey thing to say.

What's wrong with you, are you jealous or something?
No.

That trip was what, 14 hours? Big deal. Now try doing that trip, getting home, make your tea, have a shower, go to bed, get up at 6, make your lunch, get in the car and do it again. Then do that every day for a month. That's what people in my line of work do and there's plenty that do more hours than I.

So to say a one off 14 hour trip is some bench mark by which lugzury cars are measured is a little way off the mark. Besides, no amount of in car/vehicle "features" will overcome fatigue.

Saw one around five months ago in Wolverhampton of all places.

Very ugly looking motor. Disgusting in fact and to be honest mind boggling someone would consider one over an Smax..

Bentayga real world review on Harry's Garage worth a watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRUqkMmf79I

The car isn't my cup of tea, but I can understand why it would appeal to others.

The options cost that were listed earlier were crazy though. eek

I didn't interpret him as claiming that - as an owner and a driver he was offering some real-world feedback on how he found the car. In a thread filled mostly with negativity he stood the chance of being ridiculed for his choice, so I appreciated his contribution and would like to hear more of what the car is like to drive and own. I interpreted your comment back to him as being sarcastic, which isn't helpful or likely to result in more input from owners.

Quite agree. Why discourage anyone who actually has something informative to add. Otherwise we're left with just the "ugly" posts.

A lot of people spending this sort of money will have a number of other cars, they are not particularly interested in the opinions of others and for them reliability and comfort probably comes first, my understating speaking to dealers is that they are selling these to existing Bentley owners, or people coming out of RR because they are sick to death of reliability issues and s**t customer service, when I complained about the last RR that left me and my family stranded, I was told to calm down because that is what the warranty is for!

My time is more valuable then to have to worry about looks, wasting hours being recovered back to the dealer is frankly unacceptable to me, and that was why we left the Land Rover circle,

Is this as good looking as the RR, no way but whats under the skin is more important, its fast comfortable and built to last and cover the miles with ease. Is it worth 60k more then a fully specced SQ7,yes the fitting and fixtures are a different league.

As much as I have to omit having driven both the W12 and the Diesel, we chose the diesel because I thought it was a better engine, refinement and low down torque is incredible, I was not particularly worried about mpg but 600 miles out of a tank is appealing when you are doing a lot of long distance motoring back and forth to Europe and having to stop every 200 miles in the winter on a long journey is not great.

As I said we are on our second one, namely because of the high mileage I do, so tend to replace them every 6 months, we are back and forth to Germany where we have a house and then in Switzerland in the winter, there are few other cars that will carry 7 people, a roof box and cruise a long for hours on end at twice the UK speed limit whilst on the autobahn, this car is happy and comfortable to do that in fact from 90 to 150 beggars belief no doubt why they sold 200 of them in the first quarter of this year...
