Looking at delivery mile 'pre registered' BMW 440i's. There are a few on AT for around £33k and they say things like "£14,500 saving on new price".
Many have similar number plates so are these are batch that BMW have built and spread around the dealer network ? What are the chances of a deal on such a car ? (Say £31k)
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2018...
And why are older cars with 10k miles not a chunk cheaper ?
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2018...
Seriously. Only £1k less ? I would expect it to be £5k less

Any Renault dealers here? (Butter / HTP?) I’m thinking of a Koleos for the Mrs - she’s ok with big stuff and I like the look of them.
Is the route to buy nearly new? Gets a 2017 signature about £20k
Will I lose my shirt on it? Anything else?
Cheers
Simple answer is that the 4 year residual on a Koleos is around the same as a Kadjar, the koleos is more expensive so expect to lose more money. Is the route to buy nearly new? Gets a 2017 signature about £20k

They are superb cars, we have a Signature 175 manual and I absolutely love driving it.
Hope you don't mind, but I can I re-ask this question - it got off track first time.

Is the Glass's "retail transacted" price considered accurate?
It shows £4710 for daughters 11 reg Golf Twist, which has just been written off.
Most are well into £5K and some over £6K.

Why try and deal with that car which looks pretty boggo when you can have a brand new build with 3k's worth of options freely advertised online for less???Many have similar number plates so are these are batch that BMW have built and spread around the dealer network ? 'Your' car 2700 down and 563/month over 4y
Brand new car 2700 down and 499/month
Depressing to think most people would think the pre reg is a bargain and that Williams would probably match the other price if pushed
Cheers
First time for a few years im looking at a new car - nothing flash £20k ish
You would think a decent test drive is in order? Nope, not according to VW. Probably 5 miles max on a straight road with two roundabouts....
I told them it was a car for my commute which is city/motorway/B roads and I wanted to test on that environment. That fell on deaf ears, no idea why?

The dealers should get paid by the manufacturers for a completed demonstration drive. That would help solve the issue of meaningless short or reluctantly given drives.
Lol, if we all got paid even £10 per test drive we’d have 20 mates lined up every day and make a half decent living. I sell vans, not cars, and hardly anyone asks for a test drive. jules_s said:

Lots of dealers (with larger groups especially Ive found out) have set test drive routes with no deviation allowed, I find in weird. You would think a decent test drive is in order? Nope, not according to VW. Probably 5 miles max on a straight road with two roundabouts....

We have an insured demo fleet that people book, sign out and take for as long as they like (during working hours) so they can actually try out the cars properly.
We generally don't do unaccompanied test drives, however I'm reasonably flexible if someone wants to try specific types of roads, such as a motorway or somewhere with speed humps etc.
I always ask if they have any specific requirements when it comes to test driving the car and do my best to accommodate them.
I hate all off the rigidness that some dealer groups have with the way that they operate, surely its counter productive
One thing that really gets on my tits though and is fairly common; I ask if they have any specific requirements, they say no "just local driving is fine" then 5 minutes after we set off they say "is there anywhere I can try where I can get it up to motorways speed?" arghhhhh, I asked you and you said no, if you had said yes I would have chosen a different route, now we have to deviate and it'll add 20 minutes or so as the motorway is back that way!

But it's a Renault
Would you buy one with your own money ? Honestly ?
Mrs Z bought a Kadjar and I made all sorts of teeth sucking noises but its fine. Ok its not going to set the roads alight but its a good car.Would you buy one with your own money ? Honestly ?
There are very few bad cars these days.
The dealer not so good. She's had it 5 months and just found out they didn't bother to tell DVLA of change of keeper!

Are we saying that pre-reg (£14k under list) isn't a bargain then ? In which case could I walk into Williams with £30k and buy that car ?
Thanks
Dave

Having pre-defined set routes is quite helpful if yu don’t know the local area. One of my brothers was looking at a Touareg and the dealership was 40 miles away so we didnt know the local roads. The salesman had pre-defined roads for motorway/urban/mix and he just picked the motorway one because that’s what he mainly does.We have an insured demo fleet that people book, sign out and take for as long as they like (during working hours) so they can actually try out the cars properly.
