Best smoker barges 1-5 large [Vol 12]
Discussion
I run a 2004 XJ8 with the 3.5 V8 engine, and have been very impressed with the fuel economy. My commute is a 7 mile journey across town in stop-start traffic and yields around 20mpg, but on a run I have achieved 33.5mpg (actual calculation, not computer which is approx. 10% optimistic), and overall average around 27mpg.

Just caught up on the thread after a week in Madeira
Plenty of 124s, 210s, 211s and the odd 212 serving Funchal as taxis.
I was pleased to be able to run the gamut of pretty-old to very-new E-Classes in Crete this summer. Interesting to see the 'progress'.Plenty of 124s, 210s, 211s and the odd 212 serving Funchal as taxis.
The interior on the very latest one is great, though.

One of the "delights" of any European holiday is being delivered to airport or similar by a madman with a poverty-spec W124 and no sense of his own mortality Plenty of 124s, 210s, 211s and the odd 212 serving Funchal as taxis.

On slightly related news, I may be doing a deal on an E46 M3 tomorrow.
Terribly un-thread (manual, convertible) but it means there'll be some cash coming my way which will help with the initial costs of (hopefully) our next 'house' purchase.
Terriblely poor form to quote oneself, however, I HPI'd the M3 (on the way to 'the meet'!) and it came up with a mileage discrepancy. Terribly un-thread (manual, convertible) but it means there'll be some cash coming my way which will help with the initial costs of (hopefully) our next 'house' purchase.
Only 1800 miles and it only had 70k on it, but it really put me off it as i would eventually end up selling it on it.
The mileage could probably be explained by an MOT testers fat fingers, but there's a chance it wouldn't be so easily swallowed by the next buyer.
So I called it off, apologised profusely for wasting the guys time and called this guy -

I had said no thanks to his offer (£6k plus that car for my 911) but he then said he really liked mine.
So I haggled a little more out of him, and made my way from Silverstone over to Bury St Edmunds.
Seemed to take forever to get there. Bodywork around 6.5/7 out of 10. Drives really, really well. Interior is an absolute delight.
Hopefully spend some time making it 'mine' over the next few weeks and tidying it up here and there
Bit more suitable for the impending barge meet than an E46 M3...

Does that mean you bought it? So I haggled a little more out of him, and made my way from Silverstone over to Bury St Edmunds.

Assuming yes, congrats. Proper fuel station forecourt pics expected imminently.

Yes, it's mine. Will try to get to the next meet, providing it's within sensible distance of Bucks. Assuming yes, congrats. Proper fuel station forecourt pics expected imminently.
It was very, very nice to drive. I never gave it much stick but found myself cruising at 90+ without even realising.
Everything seems to work, bodywork needs my attention but no worse than any other 2005 car.
I did actually fill it up almost immediately but I have the wifes' old iPhone thing and the camera is just a black screen.
Will take her 'phone out for the obligatory forecourt snap.

This reminds me ... we were talking about a meet.As 0a has gone AWOL*, how about the venue I'd mentioned, https://www.rafmuseum.org.uk/cosford/ as a possible meet next time?
If we can get an indication of general interest we'll tie down dates, but I'd suggest we're looking at a weekend mid to end-Nov, i.e a month out from here and still well before Christmas. Posting a statement of interest here will suffice for now, so all you lurkers, bargeists, wannabes, and just plain moribidly curious, give an indication and we'll take it from there.
- In fairness, he's organised the preceding events so is overdue a break.
