You could be correct, I am not sure.

If you go to the Alloy Wheel Direct website, they will list the MB wheels for your CL, and indicate which of their wheel bolt sets will fit the wheel and car. It may be the existing bolts will fit - I’d suggest checking the protrusion of the bolt beyond the wheel’s rear face on both types of wheel and if it’s the same you should be ok - but if you need new bolts I’d recommend their sets as the coating (Dacron from memory) is far better than the iffy zinc coating MB use.

Interesting, they list the same part number. Thanks for the tip

Found this hiding away on Gumtree, don't think I've seen it posted here before.

https://www.gumtree.com/p/mercedes-benz/mercedes-c...

Not quite the right size of V8 and will need some fettling, but seems a solid base to start.

It should also really be a whack cheaper than advertised if being sold with a 2-years-ago expired MOT. The seller does state "I am thinking of presenting it for its next MOT this week if I get round to it" which is then followed by the somewhat hackneyed assurance that it "hasn't been used much since last one so cant imagine much if anything wrong." Make of that what you will.

Lovely interior, though (ignoring the 'orrible rubber mat on the driver's side and the no smoking sticker).

It's way over-priced with all the faults he lists IMO

You read the advert and it needs a couple of bodywork and interior bits doing.

Fair enough, then it also needs, and, and, and.

I'd imagine doing 4k miles in 7 years hasn't helped the tappets, especially if its driven infrequently and hard, oil type could make a difference too.

Very shoddy. If they want to acheive a crack-pipe price at least present it correctly. Lovely colour though
I'm not feeling the different shade of green boot with incorrectly spaced badges on the back.

See!? Brabus Monoblock II. I was right after all. wink

Thanks for all the health advice, but it’s really not all that bad! I am currently at 85 kg compared to my usual 83kg is all! Todays exercise is done, as I dropped off the M6 at the dealers, then walked back, picked up the SL and took that to my man, and now walked back. Around 9 miles total. It’s not like I’m Robbie Coltrane or anything...

Catching up - Zonergem, thanks for the offer on the wind deflector, but mine’s in good enough shape, so I’m OK for now. Suspension, then new door seals, then soft-top windows is the plan. Oh, and wheel refurb/tyres. Anyway... onto Volume XIII - may there be many excellent purchases, and minimal bork for all!

Went and saw this today
https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C940128

Needs a fair bit of work making the asking price fairly steep. All the other 300se are hours and hours from were I am (London).

The search continues.

Josh00mac. He's certainly a long way from London but why not give Mark Taylor a call (mtsv)? He has some decent stock or can keep an eye out for something for you.

What did it need? I like the ad.

How do these drive? I love my 300e. The lexus is so dull that I actively avoid proper driving roads.

I have a spare OEM wind deflector in really good condition for sale if you need one.
I've been talking about getting one of these for ages and never done it. I'm on holiday at the moment but would be keen to take this off your hands when I get back (2weeks) if you could send me the details.
Cheers,
C
