A Range Rover for less than four grand...
I wonder how long you could run it and enjoy it before the inevitable disaster that would render it financially sensible to simply scrap it for parts..?

Those wheels are hideous. Factory or not, they'd have to go. I wonder how long you could run it and enjoy it before the inevitable disaster that would render it financially sensible to simply scrap it for parts..?

Something smaller, maybe 17", and nice big fat rubber, and you're on to a winner
EDIT: Shame it's not dark metallic green - that would have been very lovely indeed.
Pretty scary at the bottom end of the market.
New wheels, de-tinted and with an LPG service that could be a very good buy.
ETA: On the subject of LPG-based gambles, this is also a yank tank. I'd say this is £100 of valeting and a wheel refurb away from possibly being quite a nice old hector.

Sad that generation of Town Car was nowhere near as handsome as the previous one.
I'm trying to like it, but I can't, quite. It's a drearily-styled thing, isn't it?
The earlier one, in black, is a thing I'd like to have around. I can't think of a single thing it would be ideal for, except perhaps going all Jimmy Conway in the direction of my daughter's future boyfriend(s).

I'm not sure, but they are thoroughly disgusting.
As far as the driving experience goes, I'm sure it'd be rubbish, but I have a perverse attraction to them.
I accept that if you are in, say, Chicago or Phoenix (and maybe in the 70s) we're in a nice place, but on a UK road????? no, no, no and no........As far as the driving experience goes, I'm sure it'd be rubbish, but I have a perverse attraction to them.

No, not the earlier one. The facelift of that^ one is the one to have. Has a less gopping front. Has to be in black though.I'm trying to like it, but I can't, quite. It's a drearily-styled thing, isn't it?

I'm a big fan of the very square boot, and I like the vertical six-light on these.

I think there’s also the fact that a significant subset of people don’t use climate/air-con.
Ever since my 1998 passat I’ve always set the temperature to 21, and the rest of it to auto. Only time I ever get condensation is after a protracted wet walk to the car, so clothing brings in the moisture.
So, so many people just don’t use it “as it affects the mpgees’, (or they’re all tight Northerners). I maintain that a car that uses it’s A/C full-time shouldn’t suffer damp.
On Mk3 LS400's, AUTO sets the temperature, and AC is activated by a button on the dash, lit for ON or unlit for OFF. But on the Mk4,with AUTO and AC activated, switching to SCREEN DEFOG and back to AUTO again knocks off the AC. The car fogs up and you have to select it ON again through the touch screen. Very annoying.Ever since my 1998 passat I’ve always set the temperature to 21, and the rest of it to auto. Sure you don't want to be Joe Pesci? You are a funny guy.Regarding that Lincoln, LPG conversion suggests that it was probably a car that's lived a lot of it's life in Eastern Europe, so I'd be checking carefully for rust. The fact they haven't registered it in the UK would give cause for concern too: wouldn't surprise me if it was hiding something which would make it difficult / expensive to MOT.
There's loads of them where I live, and every time I drive past one I wish I'd got one instead of my Audi, despite them being technically inferior in almost every way.

This is not a barge, for which I apologise. I thought you might like it anyway. It's a P plate Alfa convertible in dark green for £1699.

On the X350 XJR I had a set of Conti Sport Contact that were utter rubbish. Noisy, tram-lining hateful things. Oh and they lasted 8000 miles.
Replaced with Dunlop SportMaxx. wow, no comparison. No tram-lining, much quieter, more confidence in wet weather including standing water.
What's on yours?

Pirelli p6000s all round with plenty of tread. I think they are the OEM choice as the last owner only used the local Jaguar dealer. Replaced with Dunlop SportMaxx. wow, no comparison. No tram-lining, much quieter, more confidence in wet weather including standing water.
