Does this mean what I think it means? You have a third?
No, I was just trying out the future hilarious tense.

Badly.

I have my eye on something barge-like and (whisper it quietly) not even a Mercedes. However there is much marital spadework to be done before I can even think about trying to buy it.

All this R129 chat reminds me when I was talked out of buying a mint low mileage SL600. Immaculate with hard top, less than 70k on the clock with factory AMG kit and alloys for £6k! This was only 3 years ago tops. Gutted. #theonethatgotaway ??
Is that the one Harry Metcalfe bought?

Typical. Comes up for sale a day before i fly to the States for a while.

Not an Elite but an MV6 manual, looks in good condition with little sign of rust (unusual). Higher miles so at least one exhaust manifold gasket 'ticking' .......

Not a fan of the wheels but they are genuine Steinmezt so worth a bit, sell 'em and buy some Irmscher MV6 wheels. Smooth, fast, frugal, load lugger.........

Thank you! I'll be following this

Well he bought one but maybe not the one I was looking at as the one I was getting was black.

I think I want a manual barge next. A large engine, comfortable and reasonably refined, but where I can enjoy swapping gears myself when I get off the motorway on some A roads. Any ideas?
There was a manual XJS with an X300 XJR engine for sale a while ago. I bet that'd be a laugh.

Had the roof down on the SL today for the first time this year. Lovely day for a drive, doesn't get much better hustling along a good B road with the roof down on days like this...

I ponied up for this fantastic product sales manual on eBay. The seller turned out to be Mark Taylor of MTSV. Who here was bidding against me?

I love Mercedes’ 1980s approach: the customer is an idiot who doesn’t know what he wants and the competition is st:

It was a daft question TBH. I've been off-grid for a bit and jumped-in without fully realising that it's a future auction.

More to the point, give us the gen on the non-MB barge; we love an expensive folly and, if the purchase of it upsets the 'significant-other', so much the better. We could perhaps exchange bargeist top tips on how you got away with it.

I recommend that no-one follows my technique. Unless you like seeing people cry.

Amazing.

It's hardly even done any miles since the records on the MOT history - it was on 477k in 2006!

Viewing a LS400 locally in a few days time. Is there anything I need to look out for?

Can you imagine that Merc brochure getting published now.

Even if it was true it sounds like some properly pretentious twaddle.

Hole in one, friend.

It's been happening a lot lately, on eBay. Usually the seller writes it in the description, but no dice this time.

If it had a more interesting engine, or was a few hundred quid cheaper, I'd be tempted.. although I'm just happy it's not off to the scrappy.

Well there's a guaranteed buyer for that Mercury if the next buyer puts another 11,000 miles on the clock as the supplying dealer wants it for their showroom once the clock reaches 500,000. Surely someone's willing to spend £1200 knowing they'll get that back in a few months?

I'd put up with the colour if it had black leather........oh and an extra half a litre.

And a few hundred quid off.............
Eight services in a 17 year old car with "FSH"...is that normal?

Ebay is often crap on mobiles I find, even the app is a bit dodgy.
