I'd put up with the colour if it had black leather........oh and an extra half a litre.

And a few hundred quid off.............
Eight services in a 17 year old car with "FSH"...is that normal?
Sold already?

Not really FSH is it ?! Owner must have been doing it on mileage rather than years.

But yes, somebody might have got it.

Not really FSH, but it's the Full History of Services I suppose!

I saw a manual MV6 last week hence the obsession. 3.2 and decent handling I believe.

It'd be a boring old thread if we all liked the same thing I guess.
Typical. Comes up for sale a day before i fly to the States for a while.

Not an Elite but an MV6 manual, looks in good condition with little sign of rust (unusual). Higher miles so at least one exhaust manifold gasket 'ticking' .......

Not a fan of the wheels but they are genuine Steinmezt so worth a bit, sell 'em and buy some Irmscher MV6 wheels. Smooth, fast, frugal, load lugger.........

You're right about the wheels. It's only 40ish miles from me...

Viewing a LS400 locally in a few days time. Is there anything I need to look out for?
Stuck Steering wheel motors, centre console lights blown, erratic starting (v labour intensive to replace starter), UCAs, exhaust blowing at mild steel section, failed boot seal causing leaks and rusty boot floor, cambelt every 10 yrs.

Also, check the PAS pump isn’t weeping: not serious in itself, but they do drip onto the alternator causing premature failure.

Not much else.

E39 540i can be had in manual form as can the earlier E34 535i if you can find one.
Struggle within thread budget I suspect though.
Maybe within a haggle?

Another Omega Elite - still not the pinnacle with only the 2.6 and auto. Remove from the front lip spoiler and it would probably look ok.one of the last made. Make a nice cruising machine.

Good point re alternator although was surprised how cheap they are refurbed - denso from RockAuto US was £120 or thereabouts

This happened on my first LS- a ha'penny O ring where the reservoir drops onto the PAS pump usually gives up the ghost and starts weeping. A cinch to fix, but unusual to spot as it's obscured by the reservoir. Fluid ends up running down the pump and onto the hidden alternator.

Did I read somewhere that your rather lovely LS is on the market?

On the subject of the LS400 I'm abandoning my usual rule of "no silver" and think this looks tremendous. Body-coloured grill suggests this might have the DHP if memory serves?

I can recommend the following too - they delivered a rear SEC screen (Pilkington) without issue and deal with genuine and aftermarket parts - you need part numbers though:
http://originparts.de
According to that site my sunroof frame is available in 3-5 days scratchchin

thanks, but yes, true. Fancy a manual e34 since I moved to Woking from north London in December and have some decent roads nearby. Mistake? Could well be but worth I think worth a dabble.

My screen was delivered in 5 days (by air, crated) but took just over a week to get to them from Pilkington EU. They speak/type good English so worth an email before placing an order.

That’s what my brochure states

Ride height suggests it’s on dhp suspension too

So it seems the bad oil leak from my 745i is due to the upper timing cover. Of course it's not recommended to do them without the rocker cover gaskets either. £900 worth of work.

bks.

It looks very comfy, and I'm sure it'd carry on with cockroach-like tenacity, but I bet it's an absolute bd to get parts for it. (Like most Jap curios)
