Drax want two weeks advance notice, so i’d respectfully submit we go for the 17th or 24th March.
Tours start at 10am on a Saturday, so it might have to be an early start for some.
Once I’m finished working today, I’ll do the honours & setup a Doodle poll.
That'd be great, 24th fits the best for me but I can make either!Tours start at 10am on a Saturday, so it might have to be an early start for some.

Selby - even by the geographic vagaries of the thread, that's not exactly central is it?
It also has the advantage of being at the junction of 3 major arterial routes. (A1, A1M and M62)
Whats the beard view on the SL350? could be within top of thread budget as it seems to have been around for a while. Slightly odd to have a personal plate that makes the car appear older than it is?
Believe these are not the quickest thing on the road, but doesn't have the potential issues/costs of ABC that the 500's have?

Either date works for me and I would definitely make the trip. I think the southerners have no idea how far they are from the northerners. Drax is a long way south of me!Tours start at 10am on a Saturday, so it might have to be an early start for some.

I believe the 350 does have ABC, at least some of them do.Believe these are not the quickest thing on the road, but doesn't have the potential issues/costs of ABC that the 500's have?

Thanks for the advice on the LS400 chaps. Went to view one today, 96k on the clock. Bodywork was a bit tatty but mechanically it seemed fine. 3 former owners, last serviced when the current owner purchased it in mid 2016, hasn’t done many miles under his ownership.
Only issue is he took us for a spin and was pulled by an unmarked X5 just as we got back to his. Car wasn’t insured so it’s been impounded. I’m glad I let him drive!

According to google Drax is about 3.5 hours from me. Doable but not on 17 March. Anyone know why it's called Drax? The villain in Moonraker probably wasn't the inspiration.
Over budget but a rare thing indeed. The V6 petrol Citroen C6. Not keen on the colour or cloth

I’m assuming this slightly affected the haggling process? Only issue is he took us for a spin and was pulled by an unmarked X5 just as we got back to his. Car wasn’t insured so it’s been impounded. I’m glad I let him drive!
I know I know..... I have extreme delusions of grandeur
To coin a phrase, champagne lifestyle on lemonade budget. At least until something breaks / MOT time...
This is a 1973 MK1 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow. Presented in a period-correct two-tone brown.
It has in the last decade had thousands of pounds lavished on it. What could possibly go wrong?
The price? A mere £4,000 ONO
Yes, it's a bit tatty, but even with a bit of haggle, and then spending up to thread budget, on new tyres, a nice full fluid change, a deep clean inside and a machine polish on the outside, I think you'd have a very handsome old Hector, in which to smoke about in. Preferably with tweed, flat cap and a pipe.

Great find, that must be incredibly rare! Imagine the surprise of the dealer when someone walked in and ordered that. For some reason I see these C6s as being one of the few cars that is acceptable with a (v6) diesel engine. Like you I don't like the colour (a dark hue would be far better) and the cloth is a shame. I suspect that 7 grand is a bit salty for an 11-year old petrol French car for most tastes, despite its appeal here.
