Friend had one of these last year, felt quicker than even the figures suggest.
Must say that looks like a bit of a nail. Very worn, high miles, suspension looks low to me.. also e55 badge looks misplaced?

Hmmm barge plans? To gaze wistfully at large petrol engine barges whilst waiting for childcare costs to subside.
My plans are similar, only it's insurance costs for me. The woes of the not yet 20 year old barge appreciationist. Mind you, driving a Volvo does hopefully mark me out as a bargist-to be!
Barge is a mindset so I'd say we're both ok to be here!

Saying that, I am not 100% barge. Every niw and again I like to drive a bit quicker than waft speed. Ideally I'd have at least 2 cars, one of which would be a barge and one of which would be a featherweight driver's machine. One day...

What do people think to this, are they reliable?
I drove the hybrid version on an 08 years ago. It wasnt remotly sporty or a drivers car, but then again they are not made for this. But a very comfy relaxed car. Though the dash boards do look dated as with most Lexus's.

Looks great. But then my Mrs says that I am Doc Martin.

I wonder whether there was room for another photo?

I do love keeping up to date on this thread, though nothing has so far tempted me from my 540 Touring.
Snap.

Think we bought at about the same time too. I'm coming up for 6 years and 72,000 miles in mine...

I Reckon this would make a nice smoker at the bottom of thread budget:

Nappa leather, my preferred colours and a good spec (everything but heated seats for some reason!?)

fk it, it's a new volume, let's push the rules. Lifted from the 'other thread' (Lovely Cars 5-10, but out of even that elevated funding stream), this is a thing of true beauty. An uber-barge amongst barges.

This Greek vendor had a lovely XJS that I was chasing for ages, but we couldn't make a deal. I now see that he's selling this rather yummy thing. Aside from being 'Uniqie', over-budget and in Athens, I love it.

I defy you to find a cooler car for the money.
Utterly fabulous, a barge that could take you and yours to Mars on a single tank of gazole......off every known scale, beyond the furthest limits of the universe!

Nice looking car and probably the sensible engine to have. I may have been admiring this 740. I reckon they've hit rock bottom now. The only way is up.
Not a Nissan Leaf
From experience, This car is approx £1k too much. The ad states -
"all the common faults have been rectified" however, there is no mention of a gear box re-build, Suspension renewal, Cats, Water pump, radiator, coolant pipes, battery, brake pipe, wheel bearing, rocker cover gasket replacement. These are all common issues. Also, no mention of any rust rectification.

Love that. These surely have to be unsurpassable in terms of sheer value for money.

I don't think the dash looks any more dated than any other contemporary mid-noughties cars. The infotainment system is the same generation as was in my old 2007 IS - which was really good, and I think the glowing gauge illumination still looks as good as it did on the original LS400. I can only imagine how awesome the audio system is in that LS (19 speakers!!) - the 13 speaker setup in the IS was pretty fantastic.

Ten a penny stinky diesel, over 200K, no sign of the driver's seat?

A quick q. for the gallery: size-wise, which Audi is the equivalent of the 5-Series? A4? A6?

That's right. I've done less than 20k miles but after the 1st year (when I spent quite a lot on cooling) it's been pretty trouble free.
