Now that's what you call an advert - https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2... Anyone fancy an import 530i that used to be a Cypriot embassy car somewhere in the Mediterranean?
It even has a link to his mechanics Wikipedia page...

And for the acolyte that's 'foaming at the mouth', are you sure you didn't mean frothing?
Surely it isn't just me?

However, always worthwhile doing a little check of "Seller's Other Items" and in so doing we reveal this for a Pony less than the Merc:
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...
That interior and certain other things (wheels, kick plates, steering wheel etc.) don't seem standard for what appears to have been originally otherwise straight-forward 525i SE.
That interior would be unusual to say the least and looks like it may have been taken from another car at some stage. But, it hasn't been done badly as the door cards are matching. Slight scuffing on the INNER aspect bolster of the driver's seat, as opposed to the outside and gives credence to possibly having come from an LHD interior (or am I reading too much into it?).
Also, other little cheap and not necessarily to my taste touches (M-badge, the number plate surrounds, rear tints) all tell me this car was actually owned by someone who loved it thus supporting the seller's claim in the text of: "Enthusiast owned".
I actually believe it. Somebody has actually spent some time and money on that car.
Add to that the wheels. I'm not sure if they are genuine M-Parallels or not but they look well?
If that Reg number is included as well we're on to a winner!
I'd far rather have that E39 than that W126 and be £500 ahead right out the starting traps!
That was for sale when I bought my 525i - from memory the spec checks out to be an Individual, Xenons, M-Para's from factory (didn't even know this was possible on a non-sport)https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

But at the end of the day a V12 should be noted by the hoi polloi
Surely it should be conspicuous only in the way it effortlessly disappears towards the horizon with nothing but a deep, muted wuffle?Back to reality, I notice that lovely interior'd 211 E500 is still around, reduced as well I think?

Shame it looks a little bit like a woodlouse in grey:
I love leather dashboards. Shame it is so far away.
MOT history has a few advisories:
Brake hydraulic reservoir fluid close to minimum level (3.6.G.1b)
all brake discs slightly corroded possibly due to being stood
Nearside Front Exhaust has a minor leak of exhaust gases manifold to downpipe area (7.1.2)
Offside Rear exhaust hanger corroded off but system still supported
Offside Front tyre is worn on the inner edge possibly requires tracking
Nearside Rear Tyre worn close to the legal limit inner edge worn (4.1.E.1)
Also, it missed the MOT in 2016.

I do like an E34 and even more so in 540i form:
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2...
That is quite nice, and not ludicrously priced either.https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2...

We're in danger of getting a little up ourselves here chaps
For a thread that has 12 volumes worth of people moaning about how people specced the cars they bought new, I think that ship has long since sailed CharlesdeGaulle said:

Some random vehicles that I am slightly attracted to.
Not really a barge, and a bit tarmac-business owner like. Rugged and so cheap. Good in snow. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...
You know you want to! https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...
Pretty rare to see a 500 in budget now... but it could be a bit tatty! https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Totally agree that they are a bit brash, and louche. I'd certainly do things like try and remove tinted windows, refurb the alloys in a form that isn't the stupidity of "diamond-cut" etc to try and tone it down a bit.
But at the end of the day a V12 should be noted by the hoi polloi
I'm being pedantic, but in Classical Greek 'hoi' is the plural definitive article, so 'the hoi polloi' is 'the the masses'. I shall retreat back under my stone now...But at the end of the day a V12 should be noted by the hoi polloi

LSD is a nice option - far preferable to traction control IMHO.https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2...
