Same colour combo as mine, mine is less than half the price but a tad more than double the mileage though.

I can see how they can get them to such high miles across the pond with nothing more than regular servicing.

Evening all, long time admirer of this thread. Usually it's the nice Jags you all post up that get the wallet twitching but all the LS talk recently has got me thinking of breaking my 'No more than two seats' pledge. And then I find this:

Lexiii

MOT history is exceptional, from the advert it sounds like a one-owner car and is worded in a very reassuring manner. And I want it, though possibly not as much as an X308.

My current car does mid-twenties MPG so I think I'd be in good company, I'm just glad it's not on eBay with a 'Buy It Now' option.
I've got my eye on that one myself

I'm starting to think that 83% of the LS400s in the UK are currently owned by Threadists.

Come to think of it, about 71% of the country's old Jags, and 64% of surviving old Mercs, too. laugh

(All figures completely made up, as per government guidelines.)
Caterham Analytica are a good source of info - and know what PHers are thinking too......
Whilst Caterham Analytica are undoubtedly shysters of the highest order, they've got nothing on the absolute jokers over at Cambridge Analytica. hehe

I like the look of that one. Same year and colours as mine (well, one of them). A good looking car in the flesh in that colour combo, albeit not particularly photogenic. The price is creeping down steadily too, a good sign that the seller isn’t a loon and is looking to do just that.

Thanks, yes it was a barge bargain and fairly well-cared for. I don't think the previous owner knew about the sunroof as he would have said. He was a decent chap, now sadly in the great barge car park above. He had a lovely 216 and 230.

Refresh my memory, was yours the really clean and tidy gold Lexus? Apologies if I have not remembered correctly.
That’s the one. I enjoyed the Cosford barge meet. As an aside, the 6yo and I visited the aviation viewing park at MAN a couple of weeks ago, and a similarly affected MX5 appreciating set of losers were having their conference in the car park. Struck me as a good venue: central location, easy motorway access, good coffee, lunchtime A380 landing is always worth watching, and Concorde display never, ever fails to impress.

I'm not convinced it fits in that garage though, hehe.

To continue the purple theme, a 1 owner W140 S500 - overpriced for the mileage but in thread.

I think they are quite handsome cars in a 90s kind of way. I'm wavering with this one mainly due to the advert being in good English and confidence that the seller isn't a timewaster but I might hang on for an E38 7 instead.

Im calling BS on the 1 owner aspect of that car. Surely the original owner who bought it new for £80k+ (adjusted for inflation) wouldn't be the same person who added those ridiculous AMG rims and tacky chrome trim?

400 miles done in the lexus today at/+ the speed limit - 31.3 mpg. It's the most economical car on the fleet!

It's a very comfortable thing.

Do the rear seats fold down? I ‘need’ an estate for house renovations but I do not ‘want’ an estate.

What chrome trim?

I viewed an M3 at that seller, car had come from Scotland but 3 most recent service stamps were from round the corner wobble

It looks like a tremendous example. I'm just trying to justify why I need another barge. My daily is a gs300 (58 plate). Weekend barges are a thing right?

Quite. Plenty of big Mercs were being specified with counterproductively big and heavy wheels from new in the late 1990s, just as they are now.

Seats don’t fold due to fuel tank behind seats
Bought by a retiree - probably will be some deferred maintenance
