This seems almost worryingly cheap... hovering at top thread budget - but tempting anyway.

As much as I want an FFRR, I can’t buy a silver over black car, it’s just demonstrative of a lack of adventure on the owners part. That said, if the ‘right’ one came up, I could, maybe be tempted.https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2003-Land-Rover-Range-R...
However, this one is not it IMO. I’m glad the owner has resisted bling wheels, but the tat grille and side strakes are just not me. That, and the fact that it’s got a ‘supercharged’ badge on the back, when it’s not, puts me right off!
As a separate, but related topic, why is it that this generation of RR always has destroyed seat bases on the door side? I can only surmise (having thought about this a lot) that as the seat base is so high, when compared to the average hip height of the owner, that disembarking is done by opening the door, then turning on the seat, then sliding out to the floor. The repeated application of a weighty backside to the base/bolster is therefore destroying it?
(so I need to find one with a previous owner >6’6” - that;s the plan!)
Or preferably one that didn't weigh in excess of 20 stone and just squashed the bejeesus out of the seat.
As this car appears to be sold now it doesn't matter

Whilst the graphics are a bit BBC micro I have found all versions of Command perfectly adequate as long as the map disks are kept up to date. The live traffic thing also works well.
Interesting fact (or not) the old car 'phone you may get with a smoker barge will likely have much better signal than your latest smartphone as devices using fixed antenna are allowed to broadcast with twice the power (I think, but it has been a while).
Surely most smoker car phones will be analogue so won't work in this digital age.Interesting fact (or not) the old car 'phone you may get with a smoker barge will likely have much better signal than your latest smartphone as devices using fixed antenna are allowed to broadcast with twice the power (I think, but it has been a while).

I wonder if they'd mind if you popped down with a trailer and pinched them. Neither look beyond repair.
Go one further... Get yourself a hi-vis jacket, knock up some convincing looking "vehicle removal" paperwork, attach it to a clipboard, and approach the airport car park staff.I expect they'll be thrilled "the boys upstairs" have finally done something about the airport's dumped car problem.
I reckon that would easily work. And you are also very correct in your use of the singular "airport car park staff" !
I reckon HE would be only too pleased if you did!
(My wife's theory is that it's people that have died and their cars have just been left there. Quite a lot of the retired expat type down there.)

Even my R reg Jag's phone is 2g or whatever they call it.
That's a point I've been meaning to ask here. I'm just getting my E38 ready to sell and it has a car phone (Motorola) and I did actually get it to work. Well, it just say I need to insert a SIM which I think is also a 2G sim? Where does one get one of those for it these days?

Been meaning to post these for years (that's how long they've been there) and finally got round to taking a couple of photos on a quick trip over there last week.
Sadly abandoned Barges at Bergerac Airport.
These have literally been sitting there for years.
The Jaguar was actually still a very smart looking car when I first noticed it! Amazing how its tyres have managed to hold air for all these years...
Jermaine Pennant is a Jag Man? Wouldn't have thought it, but we're a broad church.Sadly abandoned Barges at Bergerac Airport.

Horribly irresponsibly, amid their rush to retire and get them all flogged, Jeremy and Jemima have decided they didn't hear that last bit, and they've opted not to trouble trouble till trouble troubles them.

So if I just bought one of those cheap £Tenner pay-as-you-go that should work? Thanks!

I agree with your wife. Jeremy and Jemima in London have inherited father's house in Surrey, the pied-a-terre in Chelsea, the cottage in Dorset, a chalet in Portes du Soleil, a lovely Chateau in Bergerac, oh and and that smelly old Jag he kept in France to make the locals think he was eccentric, we think it's at the airport.

If they try to remove it legitimately and actually pay the parking fee, at the current (extortionate) rates to which they have recently risen to there, their inheritance will be wiped out!

I know some folk are having new phone gubbins installed in old car phones so that they work.
Nothing quite so 80s as a large phone on a curly wire cradled in the arm rest.

8/10: reason? requires rather repetitive rhyming.I enjoyed it Mr. SJ - there’s a good few on here who can word wrangle, much better than the usual ‘could of’ rubbish.
Back on topic, you’re no doubt right about how they’ve got into the abandoned state. There’s a bit of me thinks that getting the Jaguar back into commission (if only because v12) would be a worthwhile exercise, but also expect the progeny to value then at £££, ‘because someone now wants it”. I’m torn between the prospect & the futility (work is getting very busy).
