Good write-up Motorrad, I do like the look of the CLS.

GPWM. thumbup I’ll happily do some sort of review for the crowd on the 6 or 7, both have been to a barge meet now, so have been seen by some, if there’s any interest? (I hasten to add that most of my semi-coherent waffling about them is already covered in my rr thread on them both - which you can get to from my profile * ).

I’ve also waxed lyrical (opinions may well vary) on the 7 in terms of advice whenever one pops up in the last volume or two, so there would undoubtedly be some repetition too.

* I have now got all my photos transferred to imgur, so need to go back & edit the picture links - that may well be tomorrow evenings task.

Wasn't there a (newish) poster recently that expressed interest in a 124?

This would appear to fill the brief pretty much perfectly. No interior photos but the ad inspires confidence. Good colour, no rusty wings (apparently), decent history, new tyres and decent spec. All for Shed money.

I haven't cheated and checked the MOT history, but with the offer of a new one included in the asking it's hard to see how you could go far wrong.

That is bloody magnificent. I'm actually really tempted by that!
I know. It's on my list, but I have put off doing the kitchen extension for years but no longer.
Apparently.

Can't argue with that. A very pleasant thing.

Glorious. What a majestic vehicle.

Not sure I'd be brave enough with my own actual money, and for the few available prices are all over the shop, but there are a couple of architect's friends at about thread max

I give you the last model Saab 9-5:

(There are a couple of petrols on AT, but upwards of 8K...)

It's a lovely piece of design, I do wonder how easy it would be to repair after an accident mind...

Saw this, thought "that's decent price", then checked the MOT history.

That was back in 2012 though, would imagine those have been addressed by now.

No MOT history between 2012 and 2017 so assume its on a private plate for that period.

Failed this year on a suspension fluid pipe, but again assume that was repaired/replaced.

Got to be room for a kitchen sink in the back of that....

An MOT sheet like that indicates that for some years it's been in the hands of someone who regarded actual maintenance as optional, but most cars of this age have had a period like that and there's nothing on there that is an enduring problem.
The real thing you want to watch for on MOT sheets is rust, because it's so easily covered up superficially.

When a chap owns a car like that, one doesn't expect to be using a kitchen sink oneself old boy.

Only the 300, and expensive. But it looks so lovely in the photos. https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C977472

It looks greyer than a grey thing to me, but I admit for those who like inside and out grey, then that's definitely a good example! If it's in as good nick as it purports to be, then I don't think the asking price is wholly outrageous. You could easily spend a lot more than that getting a shabbier one up to scratch (which is what I usually end up doing).

Seems pretty good in the pictures.

That's the problem with the 300, you have soft close doors and who knows what else as an option compared to the 500.

If you want them, not a problem if they're actually fitted though.
Mind you, to me that's just another layer of pointless trouble-storing complexity and weight. I'd rather have a 500 without than a 300 with.

Bring back the W126!
