So how do you find it now you've changed the suspension? It'll be good to hear from an owners perspective.

I’ve got the E92 135i. It’s ok, but as others say it needs more doing.
I think LCA and subframe bushes at a min.

This whole article sounds well and good.

But I swear when this car first came out it was treated by motoring journalists as the second coming of christ himself, and it could do no wrong and it was criminally good. The best hot hatch of them all better than its contemporaries blah blah blah.

I certainly don't remember reading a bad review of it on PH?
Have to say I totally agree, from the original reviews of these I assumed they were amazing.
I know that no car is perfect , but a motoring journalist could at least point out a cars deficiency. Otherwise, what is the point of the review.

Car is going in for Eibach springs and spacers this weekend. I know it won't be as good as the Birds kit but at less than 25% of the cost it has to be done. Reviews so far seem pretty good for this set up

For the money and having 4 seats just, the m135 or m140 is just a cracking car. Engine noise and rear wheel drive. I actually liked the interior albeit the leather is not comparable quality to the bigger cars like m4 etc. The performance and relatively low running costs are brilliant. The only fault was this bumpy lack of composure which it seems birds can fix. I would definitely buy another one.

The LSD upgrade I get, as the occasional one-tyre-fire out of tight corners can be frustrating, but after 7,000 varied road miles in a standard M140i with Adaptive, I just don't think the suspension is poor enough to justify the serious expense of an upgrade. It can get unsettled on bumpy lanes, but you have to be seriously pressing on before it becomes a problem.

Each to their own of course, but maybe I'm just not driving it hard enough / have lower standards. wink

That's precisely my take on this car. I kind of miss it in many ways.

I'm following with interest too.

I made the trip to Birds for my 2014-plate a couple of years ago. They did the Quaife only and I went elsewhere for Bilstein B8 and Eibach Pro-kit, and remap. Couldn't really justify the suspension package cost.

Car can feel a bit harsh at times, but it's agile and a bit of a rocket.
