And Kias arent as bad depreciation wise as they were. But this could be a VW Phaeton in among the A8, S class and 7 series type situation.
It depends at what point you are in the depreciation curve. Phaetons depreciated catastrophically for the first owner, but at this point they are no cheaper than the others.TomScrut said:

Proof of the pudding will be in the lease price of these vs the competition - I reckon it will be very expensive in comparison due to depreciation. I’ll point you to the lease cost of an eco boost Mustang vs a Merc or Audi witha similar list price.
I personally wouldn't buy one of these because it's not the sort of car I want; a big, thirsty fast saloon. Given a massive lottery win, I'd still be buying a 330d M Sport Auto Touring because it's fast enough, handsome enough and would do everything I need whilst I spend loads on even more old cars.
But I'd buy a C'eed over a Golf or a Focus/Astra. Why not? More to the point, any BMW/VAG/Merc executive that isn't worried about Kia is in dreamland. They really are on their way now.
I think the Stinger will sell in a small way and find a cult following from guys with plenty of money who don't want another Deutsch Marque. The sort of guys who are self made and don't give a fk about the badge but want an unusual, fast comfy car with no aggro. This could be for them.

Saw my first one parked in somebody's drive last week.
Very blink and you'll miss it. Looks very ordinary.
Mind you, that might keep the tea leafs away, I guess. Still it's a lot of money, hardly a bargain.
