What's your point?
Any phrase beginning with "I shudder to think..." generally implies thinking, rather than doing. wink I've driven the old version, which was awful. Considering the spring and damper settings are designed for a more 'sporty' feel on the present version and reports confirm the ride is more harsh I'll abide by my original comments.
The old one is an eon away from the new one. Completely uncomparable. The old one was a tarted up Disco and felt like it. The new one is really worth a look, and is, unlike the last one, actually a Range Rover underneath.

for those saying they're unreliable heaps, JLR are actually coming on leaps and bounds in the reliability stakes.

warranty work is still costing them £750 million a year though.

The space lost to the batteries and extra cost compared to the marvellous supercharged V6 3.0 litre petrol, to me makes this hybrid look contrived, expensive and compromised. Everyone to their own, but the newly introduced supercharged V6 remains an outstanding package and brilliant value too.
And what of secondhand values too for the Hybrid 3 to 5 years hence?

Yeah, but £650m of that is on one P38 that has some electrical problems...

I don't need revised dampers etc on thin tyres, if I was going to buy something that went round corners and was comfy there are other cars higher up the list of potentials. Doesn't change the fact that the thing looks awful and I'm neither a housewife or footballer, so wouldn't even consider one. Incidentally and slightly OT, I think the new Disco looks even worse.

It means the ice that slowly builds up in your freezer after you defrost it isn't the same each time. A rather odd analogy I agree, but true enough.

Having read your comments you don't seem to be clear on what you mean. You're commenting on a thread about the L494 RRS but then seem to be talking about the L320 RRS. Completely different. I have a L494 and have driven many L405s - there's very little in ride and comfort dependent on which size wheels you get. The RRS is a bit lighter. Guess you're just trolling.....

There seem to be a few comments on perceived RR reliability. My wife has had and Evoque from new. It's now 3.5 years\35k miles old and it's had no faults. The VW and Honda before both had serious warranty issues.

Yep Mrs UNPCs Evoque at 4 years is fault free, same for her previous Disco 3 and 4. Couldn't say that about my previous BMW.

Just ordered a RRS PHEV.... so let’s hope it turns out ok!
I think the 3.0 Diesel is a great engine but just couldn’t bring myself to order another diesel even though the facts suggest new diesels are actually very clean.
Would be keen to hear from anyone who’s actually driven the new PHEV?

What does it being clean matter? For tax purposes?
