The peculiar thing is; the greatest car in the world didn't actually look anything this car!

Genius. Made my day that.

Admittedly it's a slow day but nevertheless...

I would assume, wrongly perhaps, that a true PH would own what they know to be the best car for themselves. That includes being within budget...

I change cars when I know for myself there is a better one out there for me/us. And therefore the car I drive is the best one for me, most of the time at least. In my case it's almost a Golf...
That’s a pretty sensible way to look at it. If, at any point, I decide that another car is better all-round than what I have at the moment then I’ll normally change.

One problem though is that no one car is best at everything, so I can find myself going round in a big circle of what’s “best”, ending up back where I started.

And then, of course, most of us tend to take budget out when thinking which car is best. When I was driving a Celica it was best, for me, given price constraints, but I wanted a Supra.

A Petrolhead biggest pitfall perhaps, dreaming so hard of the next step that you're not appreciating what you have...

That’s true, but I think that I am there with the latest set, after fannying around with too many choices in recent years.

Time will tell, of course.
