I'm trying to think of the logistics.
Happily there are no logistics. The staff at Porsche bring the vehicle to you. This could be at your office, home, your mate's dinner party -- any reasonable location within the service area.

In Winter, we get feet of snow over night. Will the dealer have put Winter tyres on?
Yes. The deciding factor is seasonal temperature (and not snowfall). As we already know, the rubber in summer tyres is not formulated to function correctly in lower temperatures.

Given the turnkey nature of this subscription, the dealership / OEM have taken on numerous additional responsibilities.

It's not for me and I think I'm target audience.
Ability to pay is one consideration in targeting. Another is exhibiting a keen interest in sampling the diverse Porsche portfolio over an extended period of months.

I would also prefer prospects who are early adopters in selected non-automotive product categories as well as those who are active in social media.

The portfolio subscription is an act of co-creation in which the customer himself generates part of the value of the service.

Meanwhile, Cadillac say that their portfolio subscription has already been successful; it's now expanding to more cities. I don't see why Porsche can't do the same or better.

So it's not even national?

You can't use a Cayenne to go off on your jollies, laden with guff, then swap to a Boxy when you get there? You have to have the same car for the entire trip?

It's going to be mindblowing for the anti-lease brigade. biggrin Lease a Boxster and turn up in a 9xx for the weekend.

I can see why some might enjoy this type of scheme but it's not for me.

It's enough of a faff to organise the garage/driveway to suit whichever car I intend to use that day (and often just take the one nearest the road) so to have to plan in advance before making a choice is too much like being organised for me.

Your comment reminds me of Sir Tim Berners-Lee boarding a transatlantic flight at LHR with a one-way ticket in his hand.

I like my Porsche.

I don't get to drive it much, but when I get home the first thing I do (after seeing the family) is open all the parcels of car parts I've bought for it and check to make sure it's as I left it.

I've spent a lot of time getting it how I want. I spend hours on the net learning about it, looking at how to's and other owner experiences.

I don't care if it depreciates and that I don't use it as much as I'd like. For me, ownership is more than just driving. Cars are a passion, I want to own it, call it mine and spend time on it even when I'm not driving.

So for me and any for car guy with his salt, this program is not for me..
Couldn't agree more.

Perhaps I'm old fashioned but I like to actually own something and know that's it's all mine.

Just feels like an extension of the "I need everything now" society we live in. Does anyone remember compromise? It's a wonderful thing. It makes people better.

My thoughts exactly. I like the idea of lots of different cars but am well aware that when there is a barrier to changing between them it usually isn't worth it.

so many questions but not many owners, who deals with the handovers, how many people on a friday afternoon in summer before a bank holiday pick up a car thats got kirbed alloys? damage? missing bits? oil leaks? whers the car? just lloks like a potential minefield, the multimillionaire being sold the scheme to the 20 something guy who cant but has enough money to get on the scheme, would you relly want these people driving your car? you would neeed a 360 point check everytime you changed!!!!! and residual values willl fall, not only taking the cars out of the equation your taking the customers as well, good luck happy landing

They're all (well, mostly) real words. They're in a vaguely logical order. But...
